Question about Frigidaire Washing Machines

Frigidaire Gallery Front Load Washer Motor not working. The timer cycles, water flows in and drains, door locks and unlocks, etc, but the motor never moves. I can hear clicking (relays?) by the control knob as if everything is working ok... Is it definitely a bad motor?

Is it possible to check the motor itself without power? perhaps resistance or continuity or something (assuming it has been removed already) Otherwise I can re-install to test. The connection to the motor is a 20 or so wire coupling going into a small control box. Two of the wires have voltage all the time. difficult to test the rest when the motor is installed.

Hi,
The best way to check is to use an electrical meter and check for power going to the motor....if you have power and the motor does not run then the motor is bad...
It is also very possible that the motor is not getting power and that a relay is bad...that could be much more difficult to track down...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The motor needs replacement and testing it won't help, but if you want you can test it for 120vac while its unplugged. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Good Morning kvojik, thanks for your post!

From my understanding your Frigidaire front load washer is getting stuck between the drain and spin cycle. I noticed that you have replaced many components within your washer and continue to experience this issue. I would not advise to manually advance any part of the washer because this could cause issues within your washer. It could be a potential issue with the motor. At this point you may want to reach out to a technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you to avoid any further part purchases. -Matt

I have a Frigidaire FTF530ES1 front load washer that doesn't spin or agitate. The door lock light comes on and I don't think it is that. It fills with water, then you can hear the clicks for each cycl

Good Morning Vickie,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF530ES1, will not spin or agitate. I also see that the door lock light came on so you checked the door latch, due to it not unlocking right away. Now, you have removed the back panel and restarted the cycle, to find out that the motor is not coming on. There is a possibility that it could be the motor, or it could be something completely different that is causing your washer to not spin or agitate. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine why it is not spinning. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Front load frigidaire washer wont do anything but fill with water and drain and the door wont lock

Hello Cheryl Watson - Not quite sure I understand the issue. If the unit is filling with water and draining immediately, with no tub rotation or movement, more than likely there is a failure with the motor circuit (i.e. the motor, motor control board, belt, wiring or door switch). Consult a professional for an accurate diagnosis and to assist with the repairs.

Frigidaire Gallery Series # GLTF 2940FS The washer stopped running in mid rinse cycle. When I try to start it a clicking sound occurs.

You will need to check the drain pump and make sure there is nothing obstructing or restricting the flow of water.Once you know that is clear and the problem returns then you might have to change the main control board and possible the door lock. Also make sure to check the motor and all the wiring the motor.

Door will not close

Hi,

Make sure you are allowing the washer to completely finish its cycle before opening the door. It is normal for the door to lock at the end of a cycle. The locking mechanism keeps owners from opening the door before all of the water has been drained. If the door on the washer is locked, select the "Drain" or "Spin" options on the front-load washer. This will completely drain the water from the system and unlock the door, allowing you to open it.
Thank you !!
