Please can someone recommend a "DVD-R" and "DVD-RW" to use with the DVD-HR720 DVD Recorder. Please can you also list where to source the particular discs. Thanks.

Faulty power supply board

I have exactly the same problem. Indeed the power supply was defect. I have repaired it. Now the display is working but it is still not working : It displays LOADING... and that's all. Probably the controller card (the one with the LSI LOGIC chip) is also defect. It is impossible to repair, it has to be replaced.
I think this recorder is not 'CE'.

Dvd file system

The first is rather easy. You will have to finish the DVD to get it working. After copying a title, finish the DVD and put in you computer's DVD player. Either the film should start to play or you will be prompted whether you want to show the contents or other options. If either of this happens, you are good to go and you can copy the Video_TS folder which should be visible to your hard drive. Done it several times.
The second solution is something I try to figure out myself but it seems DV in is really IN and not OUT....

Best,
Marty
