If it completes the power on self test and reboots when starting windows, you are getting a BSOD, If you have a recovery disk or recovery partition on the hard drive, try a repair install of windows 7.

You are getting the BSOD because the hardware between the two laptops are different. Windows is looking for one thing and receiving an unexpected result. A repair install using the hardware windows will be running on will fix the problem

That sounds like an overheating problem, see if the computer is under warranty, or take it to a qualified computer repair shop.

It's a common problem when you do a OS upgrade, Is that the only device in Device Manager that isn't working? Any Unknown Devices? You didn't supply the Model of Toshiba, or the original OS? Download and save the Card Reader driver for Win 7, Change the Compatibility of the driver and install.

Acer aspire 5310 Wireless LAN indicator light on windows 7

That sort of comes with a OS upgrade, in upgrades from XP to Win 7, I'm supprised that's the only thing that is a issue. I upgraded a old gateway (2005) from XP to Win 7 Pro N 64bit. and had some hardware issues to deal with. Consider yourself lucky. You can get use to it or search endlessly for a fix. Try the Acer forums, you may run across the issue.

How to get Drivers Updates after Windows 8 Upgrade for Toshiba C660D Laptop Please

This is a common problem with a new OS upgrade. Try to use Win 7 drivers. Modtify the drivers to be compatible with Win 8. Most times this will work, not always. Try here for Win 7 32 or 64 bit drivers: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK&mode=allMachines&action=search&teddProduct=6017&selShortMod=1041

Sherry:

Toshiba has provided specific information on how to upgrade your model of laptop to Windows 7 here (click here).

Apparently it is not a matter of just following the basic Windows 7 instructions and they have provided software to assist with the upgrade.

Thanks for using FixYa and Happy New Year!

How do I repair a toshiba m305 that has a flicker at the bottom of the screen

Unplug AC Charger. Kindly check the bottom part of the display if it still flickering while the ac adapter is unplugged. If system stops flickering issue was due to unstable charger, you may need to reseat the power cord or maybe replace the ac adapter itself.

On the other hand if display still flickers after you disconnect the charger kindly reinstall the display
driver. Since I don't have any idea what operating system youre using right now, I put all the link for all the available os for the graphic card driver.

For windows 7 (both 32 and 64 bit) Click here
For Win vista os with Intel Graphic card Click here.
For Win vista os with ATI Graphic card Click here.
For Win XP os with Intel Graphic card Click here.

Make sure to restart the computer after the installation. If same problem occured, please contact the computer manufacturer to have the video card replaced.

Should you have any other questions please leave a comment.

Cheers~

I want to change the operating system wimdows vista to windows 07 from K.ganesh kumar 09441089186

You have 2 options (purchase)
1. upgrade the win vista to win 7 - you need to check the type of win vista that you have if it is 32 or 64 bit or HOME BASIC HOME PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL ULTIMATE
home basic is not win 7 upgrade supported.

2. Win 7 OS full version disk.

Back up all of your files before doing anything on your computer.

I am using toshiba l310 laptop with windows xp installed onit.NOW I WANT TO CHANGE MY OPERATING SYSTEM FROM XP TO WINDOWS 7,MY QUESTION IS THAT CAN I USE SAME DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS 7 WHICH I USE ON XP ...

You will need new drivers for Win 7. Before attempting to go to Win 7, run the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor and see what issues it lists: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=161223 (since laptops have on-board video that may be an issue). You will be doing a custom install from XP and have to reinstall all of your programs and drivers - many will be available. Several XP programs will not install in Win7 without some work (compatability mode or the XP mode virtual machine (in Pro or Ultimate). Upgrading your software may be needed unless you have the latest version that supports XP through Win7 or want to do the work-arounds.

In addition you would be wise to check for any BIOS updates for your specific machine and apply those. Windows 7 is a good OS if you have 2 GB or more of memory. It can run with less but it isn't better than XP in that case. The biggest difference is that Win7 will be supported by Microsoft for updates for a longer period (patches); XP will lose that support in the next few years.

I hope this helps.

(I converted an XP desktop to Win7. However, my video card could handle the OS and I have 2.5 GB of memory and a Windows Experience Index of 3.9 from the system.)

I want to start my laptop over so i may upgrade

That's ridiculous to charge for something so easy! I would be happy to assist you in upgrading your laptop.

First and foremost, after going to the Toshiba website to see if they have any compatibility issues with upgrading to Windows 7 I found there is a BIOS update for laptops who have or may eventually stop charging batteries.

"In very rare cases, the battery pack of your PC may stop accepting a charge, i.e., the battery stops working and no longer supplies power to the computer."

Upgrading the OS will not upgrade the firmware of your BIOS so you might want to do that first. I will be working on a Walk through on upgrading to Windows 7 right now so look out for it. I will post it here when it is done but it might be too big for a response.

Good Luck,

Generally the modem connections have time setting. Check if there is anything on the settings.

Another possibility it might your modem doing that. I have seen that happening on a PC.

I think you have to give a little bit more details about too to give a better opinion.
