Question about Miele Novotronic Premier 500 Front Load Washer
I have a Miele Washing machine (premier Novo) which I have had for a number of years, and when I switch the machine on, I get water comming out of the bottom LHS filer trap unit!!! can any one help? I've checked the top unit and removed and cleaned out the conditioner unit, I have also unscrewed the filter thing in the lower LHS dront oof the machine behind the flap, and seen what looks like a "Y" type of plastic which rotates freely and has 5mm movement back and forth.. can anyone help???
Hi, I have a Miele Novotronic W 827 washing machine. I put sandy towels in, which seemed 2 have blocked it so I opened the filter and cleaned out the sand, now the filter is tightly screwed back on but evertime I turn the washer on, water pours from the small drain at the side of the filter. I am assuming that Ive lost the cap that goes on the drain but where do I get a new one if this is the case??
The panel is a filter that should be cleaned out regularly - the filter is also connected to the drain pump which rids the washer of the water. When you clean the filter out - make sure you have a bowl or tupperware handy that holds about 2 quarts - slowly remove the filter and the water will drain into the bowl. Cleanout any debris and reassemble. If the filter is not seating properly in its seat - water will leak from the small hose - the filter is what blocks the water from coming out of the hose.

The leaks in a washing machine could be coming from many different places in the washer.
The first place you need to check is behind the washer, check the two fill hoses and the water mixing valve.
The next thing to do is to remove the front panel, set the washer on the regular cycle and turn it on to start filling.
Use a drop light and check all the hoses under the washer as the washer is filling. Make sure to keep your hands away from any moving parts.
If the hoses are ok, check the pump for leaks. When the bearings in the pump wear out, that is when the pump will get noisy and that could cause your Maytag top load washing machine water leaks.
Another place that the washer could leak water from, is the stem & seal on the holding tank. When washer leaks water from the stem & seal, the water leaks down the center of the transmission.
When the stem & seal need to be replace, the tub bearing has to be replace at the same time. This is an expensive repair if you have to pay someone to do it. If you do it yourself it will cost you about $110
