You don't say what version of windows you are running so I presume it is windows xp. however, the following instructions are for XP.

A blue screen stop screen with that particular error usually indicates major corruption in the Operating System files. You will need your windows installation cd to fix it. Put it in your drive and it should boot off the disc. when you get to the first setup screen hit the letter R to go into the recovery console.

Select which windows install you need to get into. usually listed as C:\windows
if it asks for a administrator password just hit the enter key. by default it is blank.
when it shows a C:\> prompt type in chkdsk /R and hit enter.
let it run all the way through and it will find and fix one or more corrupted files. when it get backs to a prompt as C:\> just type in the word exit and hit enter.

Let it reboot and it should go on to the welcome screen.

If this a manufactured machine tap the F8 key during boot up and it will come to a black menu screen. look for the option to Repair Computer and select it. If it cannot repair automatically, it should allow you to choose Advanced Repair Options. Select Command Prompt and type in the same command: chkdsk /R and let it run through its scan entirely. Usually takes a while to complete. When done type in Exit at the prompt and hit the button to Restart the Machine. Hopefully it will boot just fine. If not you will probably need to reinstall windows.

Click the link below, which will take you to a page on the Dell support website. When you get to the page ,be sure to select your operating system (XP,Vista,Windows 7).

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&docid=DSN_356576&isLegacy=true

Here's the list of things to check, according to Dell:
Things to check:

  • The SATA controller configuration in the system BIOS If the SATA controller gets toggled from ATA to AHCI mode (or vice versa), then Windows will not be able to talk to the SATA controller because the different modes require different drivers. Try toggling the SATA controller mode in the BIOS.
  • RAID settings You may receive this error if you've been experimenting with the RAID controller settings. Try changing the RAID settings back to Autodetect (usually accurate).
  • Improperly or poorly seated cabling Try reseating the data cables that connect the drive and its controller at both ends.
  • Hard drive failure Run the built-in diagnostics on the hard drive. Remember: Code 7 signifies correctable data corruption, not disk failure.
  • File system corruption Launch the recovery console from the Windows installation disc and run chkdsk /f /r.
  • Improperly configured BOOT.INI (Windows XP). If you have inadvertently erased or tinkered with the boot.ini file, you may receive stop code 0x7B during the startup process. Launch the recovery console from the Windows installation disc and run BOOTCFG /REBUILD

I have a blue screen that says "UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME" And system will not boot up any further?

This means that the hard disk drive has a problem. It could be an electronics failure or it could be a driver problem. Try to start the computer in SAFE mode by pressing the F8 at bootup. This will verify the hardware.

Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop. Blue Screen

Dear, Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems. What you can do is if you have more than one memory modules, you can boot the system with single and see. If this is due to memory leakage issue, you can find it here

UNMOUNTABLE DISK VOLUME Message on ACER Aspire One.

Unmountable boot volume is most likely an indication of a failing hard drive. Boot to your Windows CD and run CHKDSK /R and see if issue resolves. If it doesn't then you are probably replacing the hard drive.

Blue screen during booting

Yes, unmountable boot volume usually means you need a new hard drive. However, if you have a windows xp cd, you can boot to the recovery console (press R at the first prompt) and try running a chkdsk /f command. Sometimes that will help. Thanks and good luck! Oh and if you could remember to give this solution a rating of fixya. Thanks!
