Question about Sony Televison & Video

2 Answers

We bought a Sony Bravia LCD 37" TV in August of 2008 for just under $900. Last week the picture went fuzzy and then disappeared. The sound remained. We took the TV to a local TV repair shop and have been told that the repair would cost about $1000 and the TV is not worth repairing. Are we stuck with a 2 and a half year old broken TV, or are there any affordable options?

I would take the tv to another repair shop as it sounds , although i cant be certain, that your xsus ysus, or buffer boards have failed. Even if all three went i cant see them costing a $1000 to purchase.

Samsung LE40B550 - No Picture

Hello,

I had exactly the same problem with my LE40B550 which I bought in July. I phoned the place I bought it online (eBuyer) and they put me in contact with a Samsung repair centre who fixed it under warranty. It took them 2½ weeks to fix it and get it back to me. The note that came back with the TV said they had replaced the IP board. I think the part number was H40F1 9HS.
The repair centre paid less than £50 for the board (it shows on the returns paperwork).

If you only bought yours in August, and haven't had it fixed yet, I suggest you just get in contact with whoever you bought it from and get it done under warranty.

Hi I deal with Samsung everyday. Can you not go back to the store where you bought it. their customer service team should be able to push a bit more clarification from Samsung. Also a lot of stores will have a policy where if the unit is away for repair for more than x amount of days/weeks the customer is entitled to a new prduct. Worth a shot!
