How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. Restore to factory settings:

If you want to restore your computer to its original settings without

recovery CDs.

Note: If your system is the multilingual version, the operating

system and language you choose when you first turn on the

system will be the only option for future recovery operations.

This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software

content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps

below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all data

will be erased.) It is important to back up all data files before using this option.

Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.

1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.

2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.

3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.

Note: To activate the BIOS utility, press <F2> during POST.

To start the recovery process:

1 Restart the system.

2 While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to

enter the recovery process.

3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

Important! This feature occupies 15 GB in a hidden partition on

your hard disk

My acer aspire 5732z, wont backup disck two, disck one ran fine said error at end of disck two??

That error indicates that your disk is scratched or deformed. Just grab a new cd to continue, or restart the process. Try not to smudge the clear face of your blank cd or it may happen again.

I am doing a clean install from the recovery disk, eveything went fine, all the files copied over, but when it rebooted a message window popped up and said "Windows setup cannot configure Windows to run on...

There might be a bios setting that you have too set for the recovery mode. If you can get into the BIOS then check to see if there's a setting for recovery. You can also try at boot up (before the Windows error) to hit Ctrl-F10.

A display problem in my Acer desktop pc

techguru 2009: First thing disconnect all power. Remove all drives (hard drive, CD/DVD, Floppy). Then remove all PCI cards. Also slowly remove the Memory cards. You should only have the motherboard w/processor and the power supply connected, do not connect the monitor or mouse\keyboard. If you have a CMOS battery also remove it. Careful turn the power on, you should hear several beeps. That is letting you know that there is no memory installed. Turn power off disconnect power cord. Slowly install the memory cards, keyboard, mouse, monitor. If you have a pci video card install it now. Turn power on. you should see the bios loading then error message there is no disk or operating syste. turn power off and start connecting one device at a time so your bios can recognize it. This should let you know if you have faulty hardwareby isolating each install. If you still have problems let me know.
