SOURCE: Dell All-In-One 948 InkJet Printer

This might not be the issue but I had a similar problem when I first got the printer. Open the top-( where the ink is loaded), look at the back on the right there is a small bus cable ( flat wire usually white) make sure it is pulled in all the way into the top. Be carefull as the prongs can break. This took care of my clicking clacking when the machine came on.
Good luck

SOURCE: MFP 1815 D Unlock Scanner message

Inside the print tray (where the paper comes out) on the upper right there is a blue lever. Pull it toward you and that will unlock the scanner. I just did this and restarted my printer and it worked! Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Printer making a loud clicking noise when printing.

the feed roller gear is stripping; remove the cover and, adjust the gear retainer before it completely fails. (it should be easy to see the gear once the printer cover is removed.

I turned on my Dell 1110 printer and it keeps making the same noise over and over. The top "rollers" keep moving and I am not printing anything. I had to turn off the printer because it was getting so...

It does have a high pitched noise when it first starts up that is annoying, but after a few minutes it stops. If the roller is keep moving and non-stop, maybe you should contact dell.

Paper is jam on the top feeder of Dell 1110

There is a section in the user guide that shows how to remove and avoid paper jams on this unit:
Click on the user guide link .
http://www.generalmanual.com/Printers/Dell-1110-Laser-Printer.htm

Printer paper jams can be caused from:

Paper that is sticking to-gether - fan your paper from both ends and both surfaces before placing it into the printer

Paper tends to absorb moisture in high humidity - this can also cause it to stick and jam.

Always store your paper flat - many printers jam readily when supplied with bent or slightly damaged paper.

There could be a piece of paper stuck in the printer from a previous jam - especially if you have printed labels - it only takes one tiny corner of a label to cause paper jams in any printer - cheap consumer models to commercial models costing thousands of dollars.

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
