Keep in mind that using the camera in CREATIVE ZONE, these mode give you more control for shooting various subjects. Its possible that the shutter has double kick to take the pic, the first stay the pic for stabilization adn the second kick take the pic.

Also, this camera have the "optical stabilization" system, that helps prevent blurry pictures, especially for handheld cameras at slow shutter speeds or when using high optical zoom.

I suggest check and test your camera with the user guide in your side; take pics in starter category is a play that need be patiente and test over test. In the next grapchis could find the "modes" that you need to test for better results and the pages location ( p.XX ) in the User Guide...

How long has this camera been out? I'm shopping

HI,
The Canon Rebel T2i was announced on Feb 08, 2010 and Canon just started shipping the DSLR. Your salesperson was thus correct.
The DSLR is also known as EOS 550D. It differs from the previously model by:
  • Higher resolution 18MP CMOS with gapless micro lenses
  • ISO 6400 no longer in 'expanded' range (12,800 max remains the same)
  • Redesigned buttons and new movie/live view button
  • Customizable auto ISO ranges
  • Improved 63 zone metering (iFCL)
  • 3:2 format screen with more pixels
  • Improved movie functionality
  • Slightly higher burst shooting rate (though buffer holds fewer shots)
  • HDMI control (CEC)
  • SDHX Compatible

Just uploaded new software version 6.4.1 for my Canon and I have lost the Remote Shooting function, can anybody help?

I guess you are aware that remote shooting is possible only when you put the camera in a creative zone mode, that is "P, Av, Tv, or M." The firmware does not have any such associated complaints.

How do you active the LCD screen on Canon EOS Rebel XS. I've read teh manual but still cannot active it. this is to review the shot before you take the shot.

In your manual it is on page 95, on how to do this,
It is called LIve view shooting and it does not work on basic zone modes.
    1. Set camera to a creative zone mode
    2. then under that tools option select live view function setting then press the set button
3 select live view shoot then hit set
    4. press the menu button to exit
