Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
With nearly all computers and consoles turning off by themselves without warning is usualy a symptom of overheating, this untreated on a ps3 will lead to the YLOD effect.
step 1. the easy method Take a vacuum cleaner hose to the vents and try to extract as much dust as possible that may be clogging up the vent points, also ensure the console while in use is in a cool area (not stacked between tvboxes, bvcrs dvds and your tv in a closed cupboard (sit on a windowledge if possible)....see how that goes
step 2. open up the console and check the fan areas for dust or non spinning.
if all else fails look on youtube for YLOD fixes. buy the basic tools and heat paste and rework surface of processor.
hope this helps
