You have two issues...
Your E2 MB multimedia chip will not help you when it comes to memory, sorry

For you notebook...

Your notebook model has two memory slots, you would need to replace both current memory sticks.

The max amount of memory you can put in this box is 2GB total. So you would have to have two 1GB sticks to get it to the max.

It would cost you about $64 to upgrade to the max from the following vendor (there are others, you can look around)..

In order to increase the available RAM in your laptop you will need a chip called DDR2 SODIMM. These can be bought at NewEgg.com.

Problems with 3 brand new PC 133 512 MB RAM in Netvista 6794

That last RAM probably is good. Many motherboards have problems using many different memory. All of the memory you have should be at least identical to ensure that they work. When RAM run at different speed or require a little more voltage, they will not let your motherboard boot. You can try mixing up the order you put the RAM in. Try putting the last RAM in the first slot by itself, the motherboard should boot. Then try the rest.

Also, whenever you add or change hardwares, you should clear the CMOS/BIOS settings.

RAM chip sets

It is OK to mix chip (SODIMM) capacities in the 2 slots in your notebook.

The best system performance will be when you have 2 x 512MB but for now if you install 1 x 512MB, you could even leave the old chip in the other slot, it'll be fine.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO INCREASE MEMEORY? BOTH RAM AND

Yes, it's possible to increase both RAM & HARD DRIVE Capacity.Your Pc comes with RAM: 512 MB in size and Storage (hard drive)Capacity: 80 GB.

You can put One more 512 MB of RAM or you can replacethe ealier RAm with 1GB RAM or Put two 1 GB RAM Instead.

For Hard Drive, use your 80 GB Hard drive as external storage device, and Put a 320 Gb new Hard drive.

Increase the amount of shared video dell gx280

Hello!

Don´t lose time for that, I think that you have integrated grafik in own chip, and they have same options with 1 or 64 MB, option in bios, that isn´t a standard shared grafik. Try AGP card if you have a socet for that.

Problem to install windowxp

Win XP can't install in an SATA disk, it lacks the correct drivers. You can install it if you can load the correct/personalized driver during install when notified.
Otherwise go into the MB's BIOS and set the SATA chip to work as an ATA one. You can configure it later if you want a very small to non detectable  HD speed increase.

Compaq EVO N1020V Not reporting RAM correctly

This sounds as thought he RAM is faulty.

You need to have installed 2 x 512 MB DDR 266 SoDIMMs and not 1 x SoDIMM.

If you have placed 1 x 1Gb SoDIMM in ther EVO this would account for you only seeing 480Mb of RAM.

The memory I install to Armada wont boot

Check the specs of the computer. The model you has two memory slots. One on the bottom of the notebook. One under the keyboard. Each equal 64 mb thus 128 mb. You need to replace both with sdram 256 mb sticks not one 512.

Memory upgrade

Well...digging through HP's web page is always fun...;-)

but it looks like you've got the wrong memory. You should only use PC2100 DDR-266 MHz or higher RAM, according to HP.
(You can find the manual here.)
Sometimes the so-called "Memory Finder" on vendor's pages give you the wrong information. If that is the case (and it's their fault), talk to them and try to exchange it to the correct modules.

Have no idea how to add memory to my laptop

Your laptop only has one slot for memory. If you have a Dimm in the slot , that is all you can have. If it is a 128 MB. Dimm. If it is less than 128 MB,You can add 128 MB memory.

Here is a link for 128 MB:

You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

System wont show memeory upgrade

thing you need to know:
  • how much ram can the board take (you can't put more in)
  • the type of ram (sod,sdram,ddr,ddr2) speed is less importantas it will drop back to the slowest chip.
  • look in the motherboard manual to find out
  • search internet if you do not have the manual
  • static electricity can kill electronic compomants so ensure you have earthed yourself before going into the box or handling the chips (this is a bit late but educational)
sometimes you need to go into the bios (change nothing but "save on exit) the system should see the new ram
good luck
