Turn unit upside down on the bench with the power disconnected.
undo screws around edge.
flip unit over and lift cover off. unplug cables as necessary very carefully. note where they came from and the plug orientation.

Dehydrator Quit working. how do I trouble shoot it

Check the power to the wall outlet to make sure there is power there. Take apart and look for loose connections inside. If the fan has gone, you may be able to replace it with a computer fan.

My Desktop PC assembled is emitting quite a bit of noise. Whenever an application or a download is started, the cpu usage shoots up and the noise / vibration also increases. What can I do?

I would think the SMPS fan, sounds like it's not keeping your computer cool. CPU fans usually never cause much trouble, but maybe you could look into getting quieter fans.

My 1987 Corolla fan stopped bringing me heat -- it's still winter. Can you help?

Heater fans usually don't have relays because they don't draw enough power to need one. But if a relay does not have power, then it would be a fuse. Does the fan work at high speed but not low? If so, then it is the resistor pack at the fan. You can always just power to the fan in order to test it directly. The switch should also be tested with a test light.

The blower fan on my 2001 ford econoline e-250 has quit working just in time for sub-zero temperatures. It was working now and then since I bought the van 8 months ago. Where are the relays for the fan...

1 Open the hood, and remove the cover from the fuse block. Locate the fuse numbered "105,"and remove it with a fuse puller.

2 Install a replacement 40-amp fuse in slot "105," and reattach the fuse block cover. If the blower is still malfunctioning, you may need to replace the motor.

3 Open the passenger's side front door, and locate the blower underneath the right side of the dashboard. Remove the three screws securing it to the vehicle.

4 Remove the three screws securing the motor to the fan blower, and install a replacement motor.

5 Reinstall all of the screws, and close the door.

2005 chevy equinox do my radiator and condensor

Hello: You may have a cooling fan(s) problem. Start the truck, turn the a/c on max, both fan and a/c control. Open hood the cooling fan(s) should be running. If not then you will need hands on trouble shooting. It could be fan(s) motor(s), relays, relay control, ie PCM, wiring, fuse etc. Systematic hands 0n trouble shooting will be needed with a upscale scan tool.

My gateway is making a rattling sound at start up which last about 15 minutes, them seems to run quite after that.....any ideas ?

It is most likely a fan that is making the noise. It's possible that one of the fans is going bad and needs to be replaced. But sometimes fans will make noise if there is a lot of dust inside the case. You could try opening the case and using one of those compressed air cans to carefully blow the dust out. You can get them for a few dollars at any office supply store.
If you're comfortable opening up the case and replacing a fan, it's not too hard to do once you figure out which fan is making the noise. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, take it in to a shop and get them to do it for you. It shouldn't cost much.
Right now, it sounds like maybe the fan is having trouble getting started and then when it gets quiet, it's either because the fan settles down and starts running or maybe because it just stops working after trying for a few minutes. Either way, I'd get it taken care of because you don't want it getting too hot inside the case.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Refrigerator mal function can be due to several reasons...To trouble shoot poor/no cooling problem, you need to carefully check all the below quoted possibilities one by one:
  • Start Relay (Compressor Clicking won't Start in case of faulty).
  • Bad/dirty Condenser.
  • Defrost timer Settings.
  • Cold Control Settings.
  • Defrost (Ice built up on the evaporator coils that chokes the air flow to the freezer/refrigeraot compartment).
  • Evaporator Fan.
  • Main Control Board mal function.
You need to cross check all above quoted possibilities one by one to locate/trouble shoot the problem.

Best of Luck,

Trouble shooting of motherboard

Hi thayal, systems shut down because of over heating. This is normal so nothing burns up. Try opening the case & clean the CPU fan. Remove any & all dust from the fan blades. Use a clean non used paint brush to help loosen any dust build up. Than blow the entire system out with canned air. Blow out the power supply as well. When finished put the case back together & see if the system shuts down.

Luck!

Mercedes 300E 2.8 Liter

Your library may have the diagram. Does any speed work? If it runs on full, there is a resistor pack in the fan housing that can be changed. This unit may also have multiple fuses controlling it. Merc has a habit of building the most difficult cars in the world to trouble shoot. Good luck, sir.
