Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
It is likely to be in your (lost) manual so if you require another you will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct.
Good luck,
John C.

Have a Miele 1612 washer whose heater element comes on during any cold only program. As we are off-grid, any unnescesary power useage is unacceptable. Is there something I can reset, or do I just remo

Hi Ed ..
The following is from the Miele handbook and would indicate that the machine can have the water temperature adjusted...... However I suggest that by merely disconnecting/removing the element
the machine's temperature sensors would not allow the machine to work..
A compromise may be to select the lowest wash temperature (ie 30c) This is better than cold water for detergent economy and effectiveness, and machine life.. I understand your situation.
Good luck

Tap water line (cold water) The tap water connection is established using the inlet hose with the blue marking. If the washer is connected to this line only, the appliance will need to be reprogrammed to cold water fill only. Please contact your Miele dealer or Miele Customer Service for reprogramming instructions.

I am familiar with this problem and 99% of the time it is caused by the washer lid safety switch, if the switch doesn't function the washer control will not let the cycle run past filling the tub with water. You can buy the part and get information on how to install it from a company called

My front loading machine washer did not have enough water to wash. water is very low almost low when i saw from front glass door. what hapening, how to adjust the water capasity.

No brand or model number supplied...
Front load washers use very little water. Most modern FL washers don't even fill to the bottom of the door, and it's easy to become concerned..I know how you feel.
If the machine is completing the full wash cycle, it's recognising that there is enough water to continue. Capturing and measuring the amount of water used, and comparing with manufacturers specificatrions can help.
If it stops mid way, it could be because there is a slow or faulty water inlet valve.
Check with the manufacturer/service agent to ascertain the water useage.
You may need to call a serviceman to physically check the machine, for your peace of mind...
Good luck Nomess

Machine won't drain water

More information is needed to give a better answer: Make, model is a good start.

There are several possibilities: Blockage in the hose or pump (I've seen socks and gloves stopped up in the hoses and pumps), a burnt out pump motor (if so equipped like a GE washer has), a bad timer not switching into the drain/spin cycle, and other possibilites. More information is defineatly needed.

GE washer does not agitate does not stop filling up

If your washer is filling until it overflows without agitating, and will stop filling if you turn machine off or interupt power to it, the machine is not seeing that it is full. This may be caused by a blocked water level tube (usually some "goop" where it connects to the tub), a hole in the water level tube (look near the suspension rod or where a mouse may have chewed a hole in it), or a bad water level switch. You do not state a model number, or even if it is a top loading or front loading machine, so that is the most information I am able to provide at this point.

Depending on the age and size of your washer-Front loaders cut water use by nearly 40 percent. A typical top-loading washer uses about 40 gallons of water for each full load. In contrast, a full-size horizontal axis clothes washer uses only 20 to 25 gallons. That means that, by purchasing a horizontal axis model, you could save as much as 7,000 gallons of water per year. You also save all the energy you would have used to heat that water, meaning added savings for you and a big boost for the environment. These appliances also use less energy than conventional washers - approximately 50 percent less, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Water leaking from the bottom of the washer at the rear right corner!

firstly check that the inflow water pipes connected to the machine are connected correctly, feel around the pipes that touch the machine to see if there is any water. If there is the washers may need replacing on the pipe. Or the pipe may simply have got a bit loose through the machines spinning.

Water Useage

if the machine works fine and runs through the programme without stopping, then never adjust anything on the machine to alter settings, this can cause more problems, computer control machines do the job very well under normal circumstances, the drum will hold sufficient water even if you can not see it for the clothes it holds, just to confirm this why not do a wash while no clothes so you will be reassured of the fact. i am a recently retired engineer of 20 years experience, and often have to reassure many people of this, don't worry of it works
