Get a blinking red light... E01 appears on screen ... Somedays it works almost everyday this happens regularly throughout the day...?

Hi,
You didn't mentioned the brand and model number of the tv. Any way from its appearance i think its Pioneer Plasma tv. As you says you are facing this problem every day , There is some problem with the Power supply of the Plasma monitor. Probably the electrolytic
capacitors. After a long period of use may electrolytic capacitors can become bad by the heat produced by the nearby components. The bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply can create such problems in Plasma tvs and also in Lcd tvs.

Working in the power supply of plasma tv is a skilled work. Not only the power supply of the plasma, Power supply of all the electronic equipment should be repaired by a person who has well knowledge in electronics. Because the is risk of electric shock Even if the power is removed. Because some of the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply will hold a DC charge for more than one day. This Dc charge is more lethal than the mains AC charge. If you think that you can go trough the power supply and is able to replace the capacitors with out making any harm to yourself then inform me the same with the exact brand and model number of the tv that you have. I will try to assist you to solve the problem that you are facing

Pioneer plasma 42 tv with external media receiver 2003 model yr flat screen goes on but receiver light red (not green) and screen gives E01 code? There is a cable from receiver to flat screen seems to be...

If the media receiver was powered up whilst the cover was off or loose, you will get E01 and nothing else until the media receiver is reset in the service mode. There is an anti tamper switch that is activated when the lid is removed.
To do this you will need the special service remote control and the service manual, may be available online and through a Pioneer service agent.

Plasma e01 error

Hi. Had all the symptoms with my Pioneer 43" plasma with RO3E receiver that have been previously posted. I got so fed up with it turning itself off that i decided to take the top off the receiver and look for the dry solder joints on the power supply board that some have posted to have cured the problem. I removed the power supply board (which involved removing an interface unit which is mounted above it) and found no issues. I then proceeded to remove the switch board which is placed in front of the power supply board. When i removed the electrical connector which i found not to be fully inserted, i noticed that there was a brown burnt stain in the middle of the connector plug indicating a possible poor connection. I removed the electrical connector from the unit completely (the other end connects to the adjacent board with the fuse on it) and cleaned the connector plug with electrical cleaner and re-inserted it into the receiver and built everything back up. I am happy to report that the tv starts up first time every time and has not turned itself off since. I have included a picture of the offending plug in its built up state (it is the one with the row of black wires with one red wire). Do not attempt to do this unless you are suitably qualified.
