Question about MicroBoards MX-1 Disc Publisher Burner

2 Answers

CD seems to get stuck before it gets to the printer head. The duplicator will reverse and kick the CD back out. Not sure if it is the rubber wheel not getting good traction or something else. Sometimes the CD goes through with no problem.

I assume by CD tray, you are referring to the burner. It has nothing to do with the CD burner. It is when the CD is riding the conveyor belt to the printer. The traction wheel may very well be the problem. Is this difficult to replace?

The problem ended up being ink overspray on the platen roller, making it slippery. Had to clean it and it fixed the problem.

Hello,

Seems that the printer is detecting bad cd's that's why it's kicking out the cd's. Make sure that the cd's are not bad.

I assume the problem is in your CD's tray, somehow it malfunctioning and that's why it can not hold the cd into it and sometime it gets stuck. You need to repair or replace it. First try to replace the traction wheel, if the problem still exists, then you may repair it.

It is not difficult to replace the traction wheel. You have to dismantle the drive gear mechanism.

Troy built storm 2890 snowblower slow in reverse

There is an inspection pan on bottom of snow blower remove the 2 or 4 bolts and drop pan
inside you will see an aluminum wheel (drive wheel) also a rubber faced wheel whitch runs on the aluminum wheel at a right angle (like a needle runs on a record on a record player.
Clean plate and rubber wheel using brake clean to degrease surface .
Also there is an adjustment to move the rubber wheel farther to the left for more reverse speed but in doing that you might lose top speed forward.

How do i get the front wheel off i have removed wheel nuts whats next its solid

PUT ADDITIONAL BLOCKS UNDER THE TRUCK! OR A GOOD JACKSTAND! You no doubt have aluminum rims. They tend to oxidize to the rotors. Take a sledge hammer or some thing else functional and tap on the rubber of the wheel in a circular pattern. If it is really stuck, hit from the inside rubber to pop it loose. Also you can lower the jack to put pressure on the wheel and turn the steering wheel back and forth a little.Be careful please! Or in a pinch, just turn around and mule kick the tire!

I am trying to change the shocks for my 2003 Bravada and can't get the darn tires off. I need some advice. I have my lug nuts off and the vehicle is jacked up. Please help

So the wheels are stuck? Maybe get under the car and try and kick them off if they are just stuck on. Ive had alloy wheels do that...Maybe tap them with a rubber mallet and try and get them off.

Dot matrix printer. very light print on last page of form

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Based on your description, the printer is working, it is not a form issue, the printer head is good, an adjustment might be needed and it works, there is no reason to replace the Lexmark 2381plus printer even if it is 7 years old (not unless you would want to).

To the faint printing on the last of the 3 pages:
  • the take-up spool/wheel drawing the ribbon is not working (most likely). The ribbon is not moving hence the printer head is not striking fresh ribbon area. Check the ribbon cartridge, it may be stuck or the driving spindle where the ribbon's take-up spool/wheel locks into. It may need a bit of cleaning and/or lubrication;
  • the printer head is slightly adjusted away from the paper. Normally, there is a mechanical lever/adjustment that sets how many paper & duplicates are fed. Adjust for 1 only.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Ok I got the rubber band out

Hi Julia

Not sure where your problem is in the sequence of things. I am in France writing this so not at home to look at my Printer. From memory, once you have removed the wheel with the rubber band (tyre) on, rotate the band so a good part will be pushing on the paper and put the wheel back on the bar in reverseof how you took it off. The tabs on the wheel lock back in place holding the wheel to the bar. It's TIGHT in there though and I seem to remember it took a little bit of persuassion. However, f it seems impossble, then stop. You don't want to break it now you have got this far.

If this doens't help, drop me a line again in a couple of days as I will be back in the UK then and can have a closer look. I will try and post some pics too. Sorry I can't be more helpfull right now.

Regards

Palwing

Paper won't feed

The paper is pulled in with rubber traction wheels on a rotating rod where the bottom of the paper sits in the loading area. If these rubber wheels get slick or hard, they won't pull. Buffing the rubber wheels lightly with fine sandpaper will restore the wheels to the rubbery texture they need to pull the paper. But be SURE to completely clean any abrasive dust out of the machine before use.
