Your USB flash drive is either infected with a Virus or your Drive is Write Protected.

Scan your flash drive for Mal-ware and Viruses using an Up to date scanner.

Be sure to check that the drive is not on Write Protect mode.
However under Write Protect mode you should be able to copy file from your USB flash drive.

Also try the drive in another computer just to be sure it's not the drive that faulty.

How do i clear the internal memory from my trail camera

Think of your camera as a flash drive in which you can copy, paste or delete files. Plug your camera in to your laptop using the USB cord. A window should appear showing a folder which inside are all the photos on your camera. Think of your photos as files in which you can copy, paste, or delete. You can copy them, then paste to a folder on your computer or laptop. Or, you can simply delete clearing the memory on your trail camera..

Incorrect GB space free amount and space used. Doesnt change as I delete more files.

You may have hidden files on the drive. Unhide them by hitting the Alt key and going to tools

Select Folder Options

Go to "View" and select the two indicated options below and hit OK.

This will unhide what ever files you have. If you dont find the files taking up your space, just copy what ever files you need to your hard drive temporarily or another USB drive and format the disk.

When trying to format, copy files into flash, deletinf files,i get the message "remove write protection". so how can i remeve it?

One of two things:
Either your flash drive/card has a hardware copy protect on it (usually in the form of a little tab) Just be sure that it is turned off.
Or
You've somehow managed to tick the "read only" box on your files. Highlight the files, right click, go to properties, and unclick the checkbox for "read only". This may have to be done as administrator.

I'm really opting for the first one, Most people don't realize that their card or stick has copy protection on it and wonder why they can't delete files.

If nothing else works, you can always use a software program called unlocker - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml
It integrates into windows explorer and allows you to delete files in use, locked files, etc, etc.

My Transcend JFv30/1GB flash drive was corrupting files..sometimes i can't copy or delete files cause it was write-protected...how can i fix it???

Your best bet is to reformat your drive. Go to your My Computer and select the drive. Right-click on the drive and select Format. you can then reformat the drive. Be warned this does delete all of the Data on the drive.

I bought this because the Apple store recommended it so that I could store a music collection off of my MacBook. What is the best way to do that so that I can free up space on my hard drive and still have...

The "BEST" way to use any "external" device is to create one MORE copy of all your important files. If your MacBook dies, you have a copy of your files.
Or, if the external device dies, your MacBook still has a copy of your files. Safe!

The "WORST" way would be to copy your files to it *AND* delete the files from your Macbook,
and then to have the external device "die", killing the ONLY copy of your files. Ouch!

Have both xp and vista on one machine. want to transfer the xp conent to the vista side and then delete the xp. How can I do this?

Boot to Vista, browse and copy files you want (you will need to take ownership of the files) or boot to XP and copy the data to an external USB drive, then boot to Vista and copy it back.

Then you can edit the Boot manager *I like Vista Boot Pro, easy graphic tool) to remove the boot references for XP, then you can delete the XP data at your leasure
