SOURCE: HP 1702 monitor pin-outs

Okay...after a bit of trawling the net I found an almost correct pin out. It was not identical to my broken connector however after a bit of checking, I found that all the screens on the cable were common so I wired the connector as follows and all was well! :- 1 Pink 2 Grey 3 Light Blue 4. Violet 5. Link to 6,7, and 8. 6. as above plus a link to the drainwire next to the foil screen. 7. Link to 8,6 and 5 8. Link to 7 and 6 - just use some solder! 9 Dark Blue 10. Red 11. Black 12. Brown 13. Orange 14.Yellow 15 Green I used a diecast 9 way backshell and tied the cable braid screen to that so everything properly screened. Plugged it in and away it went! Hope this is helpful in the future. Best regards Victor.

SOURCE: VGA Cable Wire Colors

I don't think and RGB cable will work with a VGA cable because the signal in the video card is completely different. It's not just the picture but the scaning and refresh rates are totally different. Even if you could wire one it probably won't produce a picture.

SOURCE: i have a crt monitor hp 7650

I hate to sound nasty but these days it would be cheaper to buy a used but working CRT monitor than try to get one repaired. I've seen 22inch CRT's going for $10. Nobody wants them now there's LCD and LED monitors.

If you are really set on getting yours repaired, try Ebay. You may have to wait a few weeks for your specific model to come up but it could even be available right now. It may even be better to ask the seller to pull the power supply for you and just send it to save on freight.

Strange it's the exact model name for a scanjet too.

Good Luck

Use a VGA cable,

,connect it to the VGA port on the laptop,

(Color does NOT matter )

A) Laptop OFF, monitor OFF, connect the CRT monitor to the laptop.

B) Turn the CRT monitor on, allow it to warm up.

C) Turn the laptop on. By factory default the display should now show on the external VGA (CRT) monitor.

IF not, there are at least 3 display options;

1) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
2) Internal monitor AND external VGA (CRT ) monitor
3) External VGA (CRT) monitor ONLY

Press the Fn key down, and hold it down. At the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.

IF this is in reference to a Samsung NC10-14ROBL Notebook PC,
the Display Toggle-Over key is the F4 key.
