Question about Liquid Video E15LCD1 15"

1 Answer

The monitor does not come on when the computer is turned on. I get an amber light, then it turns to green, then it says "NO SIGNAL" on the screen and the green light goes back to the amber color. Nothing else comes on the screen.

Your computer system has failed the Power On Self Test or simply known as POST.

You need to ensure that all connections are making contact and clean your computer system. You may also go through my published guides entitled:

So your problem will most likely be due to a loose connection, fried mainboard or CPU.

I had my computer hooked up to another monitor to test it and the computer is fine - it's the monitor that's unresponsive.

Thats excellent, now that you have worked out that it is indeed the monitor you can begin to repair the problem.
Claim warranty support if you can, it's possible that the inducer or the capasitors are fualty. However it is possible that some-thing else to causing the problems. Be sure by trying this monitor on another computer/laptop. Maybe the connector in the monitor is loose.

SOURCE: Dell 1901FP monitor

It is probably either a CCFL back light issue inside the LCD or a set of capacitors on the inverter/power supply board.
Would you be willing to part with it ?

SOURCE: No Signal

You have to use the FN key and F5 to change between the LCD screen and the external monitor. It may be F8 also, depending on the laptop model.

Look on the F keys for a little picture of a monitor.

Once you have found it, hold the FN key and tap the F key and it should switch to the external monitor.

SOURCE: No display (black) - power light is amber color

The video signal is not reaching your monitor, check the pins on the connector from the monitor to the computer, then check the video card:

Turn off your computer, unplg the power, and then take out the video card. Wait 5 minutes and then put the card back into the computer and turn it on. For onboard video; turn off the computer, unplug the power, then hold down the power button on the front for 5-10 seconds, then plug back in and turn on.

Make sure the video card is snug in the AGP/PCI slot. If this is built-in video, try borrowing a video card from another computer and install it in this one. If the borrowed card works, then replace you card. If video is built in, then you can disble the onboard video and use the new card without having to replace your motherboard.

Normally, monitors will show green (or other color) when there is a video signal available.
Amber is fairly common to announce 'I'm here if you need me.'

Dell monitor starts well goes on a green light shows then it blacks out and the light on the front turns to amber(yelow)

The lamp goes "orange" when no "signal" is detected.
Check that the "video" cable is tightly-connected to both
the computer and the monitor.
Try the monitor on a different computer.
Try a borrowed monitor on your computer.
Try a different video-card inside your computer.

When my Computer turn on the system Giving message "Monitor is going to sleep mode" and then I am not getting any display, but the system is on.

Monitor is not getting a signal from the computer. Ensure the cable connections are correct. If the monitor has a input select option, ensure it is set for the cable option selected.
If tower is a Dell, ensure the power LED on the Tower is Green/Blue If flashing Amber, power supply may have failed, solid amber, motherboard or a device connected to it may have failed.

The on/off of pc monitor (LCD) is blinking.

Most LCD monitor (depends on the brand) power indicator light will either turn from Green to Amber, or flashing Amber, or flashing green, when it does not detect video signal feeding it. So it may be normal with your monitor. Are you haivng problem with the display? If it displays he pictue OK then there is nothing to worry about.

The monitor will not turn on. When power button

First--was it working?
Did it suddenly stop?
When you see the LG logo, then it goes away, does the power light turn from green to amber? Sounds like that doesn't happen.
So--if you are getting a signal, you should see something.
If there is no signal, then the power light should change from green to orange.
With no lights at all, I suspect a faulty monitor.
