Can the drum on a 3000cn laser printer be cleaned if so with what and how. is drum delicate. Is it worth the effort. I am getting a stream of color dots on the right and left side of my outputed page. what should i do?
Do not try to clean the drum. The drum and its asociated cleaning blades and other parts, are COMSUMABLES that have a certain useful lifespan, the same as batteries or automobile brake pads. When smudges appear on the drum, it and the associated parts are at the end of their useful life. Order a new IMAGING DRUM KIT from www.dell.com
Hello,
Please refer to this tip I wrote about how to go about this for another printer in the same category as yours.
Your manual should give you information on how to disassemble the printer as much as possible.

The drum cleans itself. Usually they have a cleaning blade on them which can wear out after useage.
It could be something else going on as well. After printing if you look at the drum is that any toner on it?
