Hi Fun - Korg shipped it's own 40 gig model with the 3.5" third height Seagate mode lST340810A 40 GB Ultra ATA/100 drive.

Korg users have compiled a list of tested compatible HDs

I need to upgrade from - mikeywaf_21.gif

Judging from the list there is nothing unique about these drives. You very likely could use any similar 40 GB 5400 RPM IDE. The most important detail is that you setup the drive jumpers as Master.

Good Luck,

Mikeywaf

FAT32 is a formatting standard of the disk where 32 bits are used for sector pointers. It is one of the standards and replaced the original FAT16 when larger drives required more sectors than the 65K that the FAT16 provided addressing for. The FAT32 gives one 65K times 65K total... even that is too small for the newer big drives so there are a couple of other standards now to accomodate these newer drives.

The FAT32 is still a current standard. DO NOT buy any USED drives from any source. You might also check TigerDirect.com.

If I recall right this HDD is a PATA (IDE) type. As for the Jumpers please check the following link. The jumper should be as Slave drive.

Transferring to another notebook HDD and finding problems

did you copy your operation system onto your new hard drive? Must of the time they a hidden file that the manufacture does not want you to find. If you did the you may have to go to your bios and make sure that it's set to boot from your e dr1ive first because that 's where the operating system is on.

To upgrade my Asus Eeepc 4G

The only way you can add space is for you to use an external HDD because an Eee PC has a built-in hard drive that cannot be upgraded.

Are you familiar with hidden files and/or using the Terminal application? Hidden files could be the cause of your disk usage and you could use Terminal to verify and remove the files. The easiest way to erase the drive and restore the space, though, is to use Disk Utility and erase the partition. Open Disk Utility Select the Volume name Click the Erase tab Click the Erase button BE SURE YOU HAVE NOTHING ON THE DRIVE THAT YOU WANT! Please let me know if this helps or if you have more questions.
