Looks like its dead, the only other thing I can think of is to try it on a pc which uses a linux based operating system instead of Windows.

Iomega eGo Helium 1TB has a damaged PCB. Local 1TB Casing do detects the HDD and its Drives. BUT asks for Formating the Drives. Which case can be purchased. how to recover the data. ?

It might be tricky, but you can remove the hdd from its casing, and install into a pc with compatible connections as a slave drive. Make sure to handle the drive carefully, and try to copy any data you want to another drive on the pc, then run chkdsk X: /f /r on the affected drive.
Another possible solution is to rightclick on My Computer, Manage, go to the drive mangement menu, and rightclick on the drive, and import it into your system so that windows can recognize it.

You will want to encrypt the hard drive. One of the most popular programs is PGP, it is free and open source. Once this is done, you will will have to enter a password when ever you try to access that drive.

I have a iomega 160 ego the lights are on but it will not open or apear on pc what can i do

Take the hard disk out of that case, put it in another one and plug that in another pc. If it's the same then the disk is dead and all the data on it is lost. Junk it.
