Sony Handycam CCD-TRV58 Hi-8 Analog Camcorder 1. Per the manual on esupport.sony.com - if the power is disconnected door won't open, and if the battery is the dead the door won't open. Plug it in and hopefully you can get the tape out.
I use a soft dry satin or pure cotton cloth to clean the heads of my Sony camcorder.Never try to use any type of solvents or harsh chemicals during cleaning as it can damage your camcorder head.Hope you are satisfied with my solution. Thanks
you can do that with EASYCAP usb2, a camcorder video capture card card "
USB Convert VHS Tapes CAMCORDER to DVD Capture 0"
, on ebay from wanghaostore. 10$. works perfectly, useful to digitalize VHS tapes too.
that is look to be the cassette in switch
located on the side of the cass housing
or a sensor ...
hope that will help and this kind of trouble
is easy to fix for experienced tech an hour max
hope you will find one
DCR TRV140E is a Digital8 camera
CCD TRV87E is a Hi8 camera,
(Hi8 is an analog format)
the tapes are the same size, wont help, the recording systems are not compatible
send them to a lab service ?maybe if there are only a few
or ebay a Hi8 camera and transcode them yourself
its not a solution, at least it clarifies the problem
Sony handycam model starts with CCD-XXXX shows that its analog camcorder and its picture signal is analog. You can't connect directly camera with PC to transfer files. You need to install MPEG card or some thing like that in PC 1st and this card will digitize analog picture signal into compatible format.
