Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD TouchSmart 9100 PC Desktop

1 Answer

We are having problems changing the resolution of a Touchsmart 9100, when we lowered the resolution, to help enlarge the test on the screen for a client with viewing limiation due to his poor eyesight, the system became unstable. Is there a better way to help this client than alter the resolution; I though there was a viewing impared toggle in the past, but cannot find one today. Please let me know. Thank you, Rick Hoover

From your description and attempts to fix and resulting message, you may attempt to increase (zoom) the text in the specific application(s). Such as Internet Explorer/Firefox/Microsoft Word/Excel, etc.

Firefox = "VIEW" from the top toolbar
Internet Explorer = "VIEW" from top toolbar

There are devices for Assistive Technology that help for vision problems.

Hope this helps.

How to enlarge pribnt on screen

There are a couple of ways you could do this.

Depends on what program you are using, often just pressing the "command" key then the "+" key will 'zoom' the view, then use "command" + "-" to zoom out... this just zooms in on the file you have open at the time.

You can use the 'Zoom' function in System Preferences -> Accessibility, Zoom. This will 'zoom' on where the cursor is currently located to enlarge just an area on the screen.

If you want to change the whole screen, you could change the display resolution. Go to System Preferences -> Displays. Depending on your monitor, you can change the resolution to a lower number which will make everything 'bigger' on the screen.

I can't see my screen or the words How do I enlarge them

You can either enlarge the picture by lowering your screen resolution, (in Windows, right click the desktop, then click on properties or Screen Resolution, then move the slider down some to increase your screen picture size.) or you can go into the Windows Control Panel, and look for ease of access center, then optimize visual display, and make fonts bigger there.

How do I increase my font size in everything. To keep parmently

There is no system font size adjustment per say, But you can change the "resolution" of the screen to make everything on the screen bigger. Go into your Applications folder>System Preferences>Display>and there click on the tab named "Display">click on the button "Scaled". You now have a list of availble screen resolutions for your display, and can select a "lower" resolution down the list to enlarge your screen images.

You did not say if you are using a PC or Mac, but in either case, I would go into your operating system's setup menu and change your screen's resolution. For example, if your resolution is set to 1024 X 768, by changing it to a lower resolution such as 800 X 640 your icons will be enlarged.

My screen of computer is so big the contents are enlarged my kid has pressed some buttons pls help

Hi nayyarshelly,

I like to help you regarding your concern having big Icons on your desktop, you mentioned that your kid accidentally pressed something on the machine that made everything big, See steps below to changes the Icons or your systems desktop settings.

  • First the system should be turned ON and logged in to Windows, I am assuming that you have Windows7 on your computer.
  • On the keyboard Hold down the CTRL button while holding down the CTRL key on the mouse scroll, scroll backwards this should make things smaller again.
  • If the screen on the Internet is also big do the same thing while your Internet Explorer is open this should change the size of the text / pictures anything on the Internet explorer.
  • But if the above does a different function from what you are experiencing then I believe that you are experiencing some changes in the resolution of the screen if everything is Enlarged.
  • Click on Start then on the search bar type in display, a list will show look for Display then click on it to open up the Display window then click on Adjust resolution.
  • The resolution on your screen depends on how big the LCD screen is
  • On the Resolution page you can pretty much check each resolution on the list that will be better to you, then click on Apply lower right then OK to apply settings on this page.
I hope that this will be of help regarding your concern.

Have a nice day,

My words in my compt. are so small i cant even read my websites kids played wiyh it and they shranked all the words.can u help?

Assuming you have a MS Windows OS. There are a couple of ways to remedy this situation. Option one is to change the screen resolution by right clicking on the desktop screen and selecting Properties and then Settings. Change the Screen Resolution to something lower than the current setting. This will cause everything to enlarge on the screen. Option 2 is to just change the font size as the standard. Right click on the desktop screen and select Properties. Select Appearance and change the Font Size to Large Fonts or Extra Large Fonts. If you are trying to change the font in Internet Explorer then choose View/Text Size, select Larger or Largest. That will change only the fonts inside Internet Explorer.

Dell inspiron 9100 laptop computer boots up but

Your motherboard is not the problem. Try this. When you are on your main desktop right click your mouse. Click properties, click on settings. This will show you your monitor settings. Make sure that you have 32 bit clicked on quality. Change your screen resolution so your numbers are higher. Just change it to the resolution that you want. If this does not correct this go to this link to update your video driver
Just copy and paste. This will take you to the page for your laptop. Just select your operation system. Hope this helps.
