When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera's have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype

http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/

Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera, if Installed Properly, it will come up and show a video picture.
Then, on the bottom of the page click save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and hear you.

Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on "Open the call setup assistant" and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

http://download.live.com/Messenger

After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on " "Show Menus." And then click on "Show the Menu Bar".
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on " "Action."
Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

D. AIM (AOL) Messenger:

http://dashboard.aim.com/aim

On the VIM sign-in window click on Edit.
Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
Next click on Enhanced IM.

I have downloaded the cd that was supplied with my camera but windows keeps saying it does not reckonise it

Please check on your program list to see if there are any similar programs that was installed for this camera or otheres. If so please uninstall the driver software .
Now once again run the CD and open the files. Now check the files for installation and run. If this wont work then check all the files on the CD and if they wont work then contact the support site of the camera dealer.
If detected then install and then connect the camera to be detected as a new hardware and installed.
Hope you try with these tips.

Cd dont run on install, when i put the cd n nothing haapens i have a mac

Put the CD in the bin and just plug the camera into the Mac.
Better still, Get yourself a card-reader, plug that into the Mac and plug the picture card from out of the camera into the reader.
There are very few cameras that need CDs on a Mac

Sir i purchased hitachi camera pen. it is detected

If you have installed the program. Uninstall it.

Unplug the pen (or any devices associated with it) from the computer.

1. Insert Disc and intstall the program.

2. When prompted, insert the device into the computer as instructed. Follow all instructions.

3. Once installed, remove disc, restart computer.

4. The computer will detect the device as the computer is loading. Wait for all "start up" programs to load, then select the program and it should open and operate.

If it is plugged into a USB Port, and is not being detected, try using another port. Do not plug such utilities into a Port Adapter, as it most likely will not be detected.

It must be plugged directly into a USB Port installed on the computer (or laptop).

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/435/243
Go to that link above, click on the link to download the software, download, the file, when downloaded, Run, the program, and it will install your software just follow any instructions. usually you install the software, if asked plug in camera, if not, install reboot, and at next desktop, insert webcam's USB cable, it should be detected, and a Driver installed, it may ask where they are show them the downloaded files, after it finishes, reboot, at next desktop, you should be able to use your camera.
Get a program called AMCAP, it is a great camera testing software.

no, you are not going to plug first the camera, first thing to do is install first the CD installer of your camera, wait until it finish all the installation or the program which support your camera to feed on... if the installation asking to plug-in your camera then do it, and if not wait until its finish... after that the program is asking for restarting the system then do it... it goes back to the windows the after finish loading the windows system or etc... plug-in the camera properly and automatically the system detect on it... How to install cameras to computer

Whenever you connect a new peripheral to your pc it detects it and tells you that it has detected a new hardware and tries to install necessary driver files for it. If your OS is not having necessary files it asks you to insert the drivr CD. In order to let the OS know what is configuration of the H/W .ini file is required which remains in the driver installation CD. You have to show the path to the OS where the .ini file is located. If the PC does not detects the camera on Plug n play then you can go to control panel camera and scanners and add a new one over there once asked for driver you have to give it a path to the installation CD. Now a days vendors do not give away open drivers they put it in autoexe cab under this situation you should not connect the camera to the PC untill you run the exe or setup file in the installation CD after running it you can connect the camera and windows will detect it. Hope this solves your prob. If any further assistance required kindly ask.

Pc wont detect camera

Most of those driver CDs only work if you plug the camera in after the CD is done. So since you've already ran the CD, try just unplugging it and plug it back in and wait a sec for Windows to find it. If that doesn't work, try a different USB port (assuming it's USB). I have seen USB ports just go bad, and their neighbor works just fine.
