There should be no code for this radio. Check all of your fuses and make sure you are getting power to both the red and yellow wires if you can.

My 2005 mini cooper went in for minor service basically an oil change (everything else running perfectly) and now it won't start - mechanic asked for spare key and that didn't work.

Why did your mechanic used his computer (notebook) for resetting service warning? It can be reset by holding the trip button and turn the ignition on, then release at reset message, then press again trip, until the message flashes and then release and press short again.

You can try to reset BCM by disconnecting battery leads, leave it one hour, then reconnect, turn the ignition, without starting the car, wait one minute, then start the car.

Selection control not working o nav/radio

I had something similar with my Honda Accord. apparently turned out that i got my car jumped off a couple of times due to bad battery. That is the reason why it lost signals to the radio. Did you by any chance jump start your car in the past few days ? If that is the case you will have to either take it to the mechanic or jump start it again and keep the radios on for them to start working again. It could be something else. This is something that i experience and thought of sharing.

Hi Jim, If the vehicle is fitted with climate control it will have electronic management. However it can be wired by someone knowing electrical circuitry to by pass the control. It will save you some cash but will need manual control. Make sure whoever does the job knows what he or she is doing. Have a happy new year. Regards John

I changed the battery on a 2002 trail blazer then the a/c wont work

When the battery was disconnected, the HVAC system lost its calibration or one of the door actuators is stuck. With truck on, set all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW positions. Disconnect the battery, wait about 3 minutes, then reconnect. Turn ignition to ON position, doesn't need to be started, and don't touch any of the HVAC controls for about 3 minutes. This should reset the calibration. If this does not work, a mechanic will need to diagnose the problem.

2005 VTX 1300. Starts good when it's cold. After the bike warms up, it doesn't want to make it over the compression stroke. Can put it in gear and rock it past the compression stroke and it will...

Have you checked the battery is charging , when the battery is cold it will regain some of the lost charge from when it was running, it is also a fact that a battery is more likely to fail when it is hot, rather than when its cold, try a battery pack on the bike when it fails to start also it would be a good idea to drop test the battery, may be something mechanical, but you need to check out the battery even a new battery can fail whet type is it?, paul

Fitted clarion db148r car sterreo(pluged in at rear) when i take ignition key out stereo switches off and all preset radio stations are lost thanks george

The reason you are loosing all of your presets, clock & eq settings is because the 12volt constant is not hooked up properly. The red wire in the harness needs to be hooked up to 12 volt consant. The yellow wire needs to be hooked up to a ignition source. By taking these two steps, you should have normal operation and preset retention.

Have Clarion DB148R cd car stereo but no wiring diagram

matching colors are the speakers, red it the accesory, needs to be hooked up to an alternating current, something that works with the ignitions, this will turn the sterio on and off, yellow is 12 volt or memory, constant power, blue is a remote wire for an amp. black is a ground wire and orange is normally an illumination wire, so when you dim your dash lights your stereo also dims.

When you disconnect the battery, the car will not start

I finally found someone who knew what to do. Apparently the VATS lost its memory of what is the right value that it then compares to the value that is read on the ignition key resistor chip. Not knowing what to compare it to, it goes into security mode and will not enable starting. So the VATS module has to be reprogrammed or it has to re-learn the value that it needs to have. Sometimes when you disconnect the battery, that is why the VATS loses its memory. The trick is this: you can sometimes help the VATS to re-learn the value by turning the key to an 'on' position, waiting ten minutes, then turning the key off. You do this THREE TIMES. That will take you a half hour. What car theif would be that patient, right? Then on the forth time you turn it all the way to start and it should go. If that doesn't work, you have to take it to a dealer who can download a program and re-program the VATS. But if you are luckey, you can do it yourself this way. You would think that they would tell you this in the owner's manuel, wouldn't you? If this helps someone else, let me know. I played hell learning the lesson.

Hi jamessisolda

I think the others will agree with me taht there is one way and oneway only and taht is to take out the battery and leave the laptop for a couple of days for the internal cmos battery to run down.

I think thats the only way.
