Thewaste ink pad inside the printer is fully loaded with waste ink. You needto reset the waste ink pad chip. To do this you mast. 1. Press and hold "Stop", "Maintenance", and"Power" buttons for about 10 seconds. A message will comeon the screen saying counter is reset and to turn the printer off. TheR200 and others don't have a screen so just wait until the 10 seconds isup. 2. Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord. Wait about 1minute and power the printer back up. The counter will bereset. That's all there is to the reset procedure. 3. The waste padis actually full and ink is about to overflow, then you need to install a wastecontainer. You can see the waste pad by opening the access panel onthe back of the printer. Open theaccess panel on the rear of the printer (remove screw) You will see atube (down and to your left) coming from the cleaning pump and it willhave an open end on it. This is the tube that delivers ink to the wastepad. Use a piece of coat hanger wire or equivalent, and fish out this piece oftube. Bring it to the outside of the printer, thru the access panel. Findyourself a suitable container (Tupperware or a plastic cup or jar) that is nottoo tall. Put the tube into this container and secure the tube andcontainer so they won't come apart or lose connection if the printer is moved. Ifyou wish you can make a hole or notch in the access panel cover so it can bereplaced. Now the ink will go into this container and not into the waste padinside the printer. If it gets full, dump it.epsom 300 keeps coming up - csts_2.jpg

Epson printer will not print any copies. I get the message "change cartridges 98/99." I did change both cartidges and can't clear the message and print copies.

i assume that everytime you try to print you get the same message. i sometimes get cartridge unrecognised on my epsom. I have to remove the cartridge, wipe the chip on the cartridge and reinsert.

If this doesnt work please specify printer model and if using original epsom cartridges.

I have error code e 90 on my epsom printer

Generally the fix for most "e 90" error messages on Epson printers is to check under the hood of the printer for something that is there and shouldn't be, eg. glue stick, pencil, paper jam, etc. Most e 90 error messages are solved by simply removing something that shouldn't be there. If, in fact, that doesn't fix it, you should try removing the printer catridges and re-setting the printer. If this still does not fix the problem you should try contacting the Epson Customer Service department and try and get a replacement printer, considering this is surely a hardware issue.

Service required error

Ok.. aside from the fact that you've posted under the R300 Epson model thread you're still in luck.

The CX6600 has been documented (by me admittedly) with a complete guide to fitting an external tank and resetting the waste ink counter in the printer.

Just to note: This is a commercial site but the information provided is generic and will help you fix the problem.

Error message - no ink

Hi Maria,

Try removing all of the ink cartridges again. Open the cover and remove all of the inks. Close the cover and turn the printer off. Leave it off for about 30 to 45 secs. Turn it back on. Install again the ink cartridges. Check if it will charge after closing the cover.

If it still says that ink need replacement, check your lcd panel. Usually it will tell you what ink cartridge needs replacement. This might be a faulty ink cartridge.

Epsom printer d68

The message means the waste ink pads are full and the internal counter in the printer needs to be reset.

you can take the machine to an Epson Express center who should be able to reset the counter in about 30 seconds. Changing the pads is a bigger job, but if this is the first time the machine has been reset you can probably skip the pad change and just go for the reset.

You could make a modification to the printer to use an external waste tank instead of the pads. Then whenever it reaches the limit again, you can just reset it.

Please rate this post as fixya.

Error message "Parts have reached their life end"

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem has been solved by pressing the 'power', 'stop' and 'maintenance' buttons simultaneously for about ten seconds. It makes a terrible noise for a couple of seconds (like gears grinding) but it resets the printer. Apparently this is a ploy by Epson when genuine Epson inks aren't used, to encourage you to get your printer serviced!! At a cost of course.
