Don't change the pin connection, change the power supply either.

1 long beep in post

Hello one long beep, is a failing ram module.

Try to renew the modules, or remove the modules, and insert one at the time.
Just to test one of them for fault.

4x 240 Pin DDR2, Dual Channel DDR533//667/800, up to 8 GB

Here is a list of beep codes:

One short beep is normal.

Good luck

I can't install Windows, (7 or XP) I've tried various drives and each time it goes through the copying process but it sticks at the starting windows point

I'd definately be using a KNOWN good drive or better yet a new one to see if the problem stops. When I say good I mean one that's been through a software confirmation, like tuff-test pro(only available to technicians or pirates, lol). You can also try a different cable,a different cd or dvd drive & if your copy of either windows is a burnt one(like no-one's done that),re-burn it at the slowest rate possible(4x is good) & try again. It's definately a hard drive issue of sorts if your using legit cd or dvd from microsoft.

In bios make sure the raid chipset is active. Ususally there's 2 one needs drivers one doesn't. I use the one that doesn't then in bios there should be a way to set up your array. Raid 0 is striping mode so you should only see one hard drive, the d drive should be the cd/dvd device. If this is right then you did it right. If it were raid 1 then you would see both hard drives, because one is mirroring the main drive for backup.

The same prob

hey there, first of all, just want to make sure you cleaned and reapplied thermal paste after removing heat sinks (arctic silver 5 the best). Next, do a deep CMOS clear (shorting out the pins on your mobo) followed by booting 4-5 times continuously while holding the INSERT key. This ought to get you back into your BIOS. Good luck, let me know if you need more help.

The power connector is really similar to SATA connector. It's not like IDE/EIDE. It should be a flat connector.

Take acloser look, most of the times both connectors are very close.

About motherboard

This is a very general question. Try the manufacturer's web site. Most also have forums where experienced users of a specific board will be able to help. Tom's Hardware and Anand Tech are also good sources.
