How do you make a Bluetooth Antenna?

<p>"Everything is better with Bluetooth" is an adage that was popularized by the television program "The Big Bang Theory. It's hard to argue with that. Bluetooth is a fast and secure way to transfer digital information. While it is useful can extend the range a Bluetooth connection, making your own antenna to make technology more valuable. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Pry apart the case with a Bluetooth screwdriver. Remove the electronics module. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Heat the existing antenna cable with a soldering iron and pull it free from the oscillator. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Remove the excess solder the electronics module using a disordering braid. <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Remove the outer insulation of the new antenna cable, and cut the outer shield of the coax to the wire strippers. Add a little solder to the shield for the more solid. <br /> <p><br /> <p>5. Exposing the central thread of removing the cable from 1 / 2 inches. Leave a bit of plastic between the wire and shield. <br /> <p><br /> <p>6. IT HAS THE GATEWAY SHIELD ANTI-THEFT

Not positive what that is, but if the case is locked, you're screwed. If not, take the lid off and look for a coin cell type battery. Remove it and look for a 3 pin jumper which says nrm and clr. Move jumper to clr for 30 sec and put it back. I apologize if I'm steering you in the wrong direction. I do not know of this shield, but the manual should tell you. You tell me the model and I'll send you the manual.

Hi I have a security shield that keeps poping up telling me I have a trojan and a worm 38mof them. My McAfee tells me my computer is fine. But I can`t open up pages because this shield keeps poping up and...

A fella at work had this happen to his profile.
I fixed it for him.
I found http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-security-shield
on the above page it talks about putting in an activation code ( 64C665BE-4DE7-423B-A6B6-BC0172B25DF2 ) to the Security Shield app which shuts down the Security Shield and stops it from popping up.
Then you can delete it.
run some cleanup software

I cant get thogh the phone...my security shield expiered how do i dedite it from my computer i cant pay to update it,, so it keeps poping up to updare it how do i get it off i have AVG..please help me...

Assuming you have Windows...

Click on START
Then SETTINGS
Then CONTROL PANEL
Then ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS

Find the security shield program that you want to remove in the list and click on REMOVE.

Just say yes when it asks you if you want to fully remove the program.

Good luck and please comment back if this was helpful.

I have a slimtype dvd a ds8a2s a ata device that I get a code 19 device cannot start message in device manager

Fist, go to devise mgr, --start button, in search area type devise,

find the devise, it should have a yellow shield, click on expand so you see the actual drive, it could be open with the shield next to it already.

It will be under cd roms. right click on it and choose uninstall, yes
uninstall the devise, now cold boot , shut down the computer and restart
it and wait until windows says found new hardware, if it doesn't throw the error when installing or after installing, go back and check it for the yellow shield.

Installing new MB in old case

Thank you blcos, I appreciate that.
I didn't know what level of tech/fabricator you are, and I now see you are very competent.

My two-fold proposed solution is,

A) IF, the Support Plate you have for the motherboard you have on hand, is too small in area to just rivet it to the existing metal 'Ribcage' metal frame work,

1) Cut the inner part of the existing Support Plate/Framework, so that there is a large rectangular hole in the center, leaving a 'Frame' around the edge.

The 'frame' being approximately 1 inch wide, or whatever is compatible.
(Would resemble a picture frame when done)
Leaving enough area for the new Support Plate to rivet to it.
(Pop rivet)

A minor, (Major?) problem is that the existing Support Plate would have to be removed from the 'Ribcage' frame work, in order to cut a rectangular hole in the center.

(Unless you have a large hole made, and use a metal nibbler cutter.
Example: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=96661 )

The rivets would be drilled out, with pop rivets to reinstall.

The brass standoff's, or plastic spacers would have to be the right height, in order for the I/O ports on the motherboard to line up with the holes in the I/O Shield.
Or modifications made to them, or the I/O Shield.

The I/O Shield not only keeps dust out, and helps form a tighter seal for air flow inside the computer case, but also is a Radio Frequency interference shield.

B) Proposal 2 was to use the existing Support Plate, and mount the new Support Plate on top, with modifications to the 'Bumps' on the old Support Plate, and to the I/O Shield, and spacers used.
(Plastic spacers, or metal brass standoff's)

As you stated, flatten the Bumps down

The I/O Shield may have to have one side reduced, (Outside case edge), so that the I/O ports will line up with the holes in the I/O Shield.

The extensions, (Spacers or Standoff's), may have to be reduced in height, or substituted with a compatible item that will work, so that the I/O ports line up with the holes in the I/O Shield.

Whatever line of modification you use, I suggest that a gap be created in-between the Support Plate, and Motherboard for air flow, and also to keep the solder joints on the bottom of the motherboard, from touching the Support Plate.

If possible I would like to know how this comes out.

Regards,
joecoolvette

Install Shield is a windows application that installs your programs. Go to www.microsoft.com and check for the files that your computer say is missing and also look to install a few service packs which are a good thing to do. This will take care of your install problem. Good Luck
