You can use better antennas and or/ a new router. You may want to upgrade to the newest N Standard as it has very good range if your devices support it!

How can I use It wider range? ( not to extend another apple router but antenna or setup )

The airport routers have built in antennas and external antennas cannot be attached. For wider range, place the router high up and away from glass, metal, and stone. Try changing wireless channels to lessen interference.

Need help connecting to the internet. don't know where to start.

Please follow these steps:
  1. From your cable or ADSL modem connect its network port ( An RJ-45 connector that's similar to a phone line connector just it's wider and have 8 pins ) to the WAN port of your wireless router, commonly this cable (Ethernet type) is included with it.
  2. With a wired connection from PC to router (Ethernet), look for the wizard setup disk and launch it, this will guide you step by step to set up you wireless router.

I have a clearwire modem. I have to locate it 80 ft from my two home desktops and laptop. i need to know how to best do this. i have an e2000 router that i was hoping to use a wre54g range extender...

The Linksys E2000 router is N series router and the WRE54G is G range expander.
WRE54G is only computer with the WRT54G and WRT54GS routers.
You have E2000 router. I believe that router is capable of broadcasting the wireless signal upto 100 fts.
As Linksys says that router is capable of signal up 200 - 300 fts, but it is not.
You can try changing the wireless channel on the router to increase the signal.
Open the setup page of the router.
Go to wireless tab and change the configuration view to manual.
Try changing the channel to 11, 9, 6 ,1. See if that works.

Can't connect to my linksys wrt54gx2 router and even when I do, it tells me there is an ip address conflict and disconnects me

try to connect using a LAN Cable (Wired) connection. and then try to access you should be able to see wireless settings there.

IP address must not be the same with the IP Address of other computers in your house. look for the Range and Increase it so that the router could have a wider range of IP Address to choose from.

How do i connect netgear wireless router to att modem for my laptop?

First you connect the att modem to the back of the router. The RJ45 (Wider than a phone connector) connects from the modem out to the port on the router that is spaced away from the others.

Second you have to connect a cable from your laptop or computer to one of the other ports on the router. This is only for setup and won't be required after that.

Once connections have been made and router and modem are rebooted, open a browser (IE or Mozilla) and let it time out. then in the address bar typ You should then see a pop up box asking for password and user name. The default user is "admin" without the quotes, and the pass is password .

This will now open the setup boxes. Change the Wireless settings, click Wireless Settings under Setup on the left menu bar.
Under Wireless Network, (make a note of these settings, you need these values to configure your wireless clients)
Change SSID from default NETGEAR to any desired name (for e.g. Home)
Select the Region as applicable - Incorrect selection may cause performance problems.
Select any one of the available Channel.
Click on either WEP or WPA (Preferred) security. A box will open for a passphrase. REMEMBER what you put here. this is your security key! If you pick WEP you will need to write down the 10 digit key.
Apply the changes

Now you can close the router setup and disconnect the computer from the router. You should now see a box on the systray that says new wireless networks available. Click it and you should see whatever you named your network. Click it, and then the connect button on the bottom. It will then say identifying network, and eventually will aske for the key. This is the numbers or pasphrase if WPA.

You are then conncted to the router and it should be connected to the internet., If not just ask and I will go through that setup for you.

Please rate this if you wouldn't mind

Modem router advise

Have you checked your wireless settings in the router?

The default power setting is 4, you can try setting it to the highest, 10.

Also set the channel to 4,5,6,7, or 8. those have the highest output.

Setup di524 - using va wireless internet connection

Hello again!

You're welcome to any help I can offer, and I fully understand the potential for confusion. To set up the router itself requires a computer, since this is the only way to 'talk' to the router....but to set up the wireless printer, only the manual can really help, since every one has differing setup requirements.

Concerning your second query, this needs someone with wider expertise than I have - you might wish to post again with this, or perhaps contact one of the top experts directly for faster results - eg 'ziraffa'. (see home page).
Good luck with solving this issue.

Choosing a stronger router

You can get this one its WRT300N this a router that uses the latest wireless N technology which means a wider range and faster speed but using this router in order for you ro use the wireless N technology you may need a wireless N adapter also on your computers.
But if you want since you already have a existing wireless network juts get a wireless range expander to repeat the signal of the router so it will reach your XBOX this is the model WRE54G.
