Question about Philips 42FD9932 42 in. Plasma Television
I have had the above TV for around two years. All of a sudden these black horizontal lines (about 2mm apart) have appeared throughout the screen. There are also two bolder bands of horizontal lines on the screen.
Could you advise me what the problem is and how much his should cost to repair in the U.K.?
Thank you for your reply. The black lines appear on the TV menu's and when external sources are connected and played such as a DVD through a DVD player. I am told a few buffer boards would need to be replaced and this would cost £600 - £700 for PARTS ONLY without labour costs. Please can you advise if this is a realistic cost? At this price it would be uneconomical to repair.

First you want to determine if the issue affects the tv's menu if it does you are looking at a Light Engine issue which is expensive if it does not interfere with the On Screen Display the issue is with your signal board, also check to see if this happens on multiple inputs with multiple signal sources if it doesn't you just might want to use a different input which is a way cheaper solution
