What is the cost of the of having a person replace a capacitator on an Amercan Standard furnace

Most of that charge (the $200.00) was likely the service call itself. IF you don't have a maintenance agreement with these folks they charge an arm and a leg for service calls. The fan will be much more pricey than the capacitor, and you will certainly get another service call charge. You may want to ask about a maintenance agreement at that time. Some places will waive the service charge if you purchase one. Then you basically get the semi-annual servicing for the same price as you would have paid just to have the blower replaced (depending on the contract cost)..

My goodman unit is freezing up. It is frozen from the line running out of my house than if u look down into unit, the freeze continues inside

Hello, the suction line will freeze either due to low airflow such as dirty air filter, blower wheel, evaporator coil or a weak blower motor. Also, a low refrigerant charge can cause the suction line to freeze up.

Have a 11yr old RUUD Uaka 060jaz with the A coil frozen, solid, no air getting through. Service tech came out and charged system with minimum 3lbs of r22 but suction pressure wouldn't go above 6

Hello, typiccally with noncondensables in the system your head pressure would be alot higher. 175 is pretty low high side pressure. Usually coils will freeze due to either low airflow or low refrigersmt charge not becuase of non condensables. I would get a second opinion from a differant company.

Relocate condenser

Hello, you can pump the refrigerant down into the condenser if service valves are equipped with the unit. Hook up gauges to the unit and close the liquid line service valve, then push in the contactor in with a insulated screwdiver or pencil and watch the low side gauge untill in drops to zero, once it drops to zero close the suction line service valve and the refrigerant will be stored in the condenser. Just make sure the unit has service valves, if it does not then the whole charge must be recovered.

How to add freon in a centralized air conditioning unit

The compressor needs to be running. Also you need freon charging guages and a pressure temp chart to tell how much you need to add.
If your not sure of anything i said here have a service person do this. You take a risk of damaging the unit and yourself.

I think my goodman refrigerated air system may iced up. How do I know and how do I thaw it so I can cool my house

Hello, usually the suction line will begin to ice up ( the pipe with insulation on it) if there is a airflow problem or a low refrigerant charge, to thaw it out just turn off the ac and set the thermostat to fan. Now the unit will need to be serviced because if it keeps running this way the compressor can get severly damaged.

My air conditioner cooling coils get frozen approx\.after 2 hrs of running i have showed it to the service boy they first serviced filled gas and even changed the fan motor. but still the problem...

Hello, the evap coil will freeze from either low airflow or low charge. I would clean the coils, check air filter and replace or clean if dirty. If you have a thermometer measure the air entering the ac and the air leaving the ac, the differance should be 15-20 degrees, measure this after cleaning the coils. If it still is below 15 degrees the unit is underchraged.

The indoor unit was frozen and later it turn off. After that I turn on the unit it works for an hour and turn off again.

There are 3 possible reasons.
1 Check your filter. If its dirty or clogged then replace it.
2 Dirt dust on the inside coil.Use a spray cleaner such as simple green and spray the coil completly. Then rinse it by spraying water on it.
3 Low on freon.A low charge of freon will cause low pressure and cause ice to bulid up.
In this case you will need to have a service person come out to find the leak and recharge the system.
