Resolders the FBT-(flyback tranformer).Resolders the video board connections sockets holes,that the board connected to the CRT-(tv tube).Plug in the tv,to have power to the tv,take out the tv video board,for exposer of the CRT-(tv tube).Take an electrical wire with a good insalation in it,grounded to the tv steel frame some where.Take the other end of the wire go toward the open high voltage CRT-(tv tube).U will hear a pop sound,than ur tv CRT-(tv tube) is a 100% clean out of contaminations or u will hear a deeing sounds only,mean the tv CRT-(tv tube) it is to old to pop anymore,just let tv deeing sounds going on for like about 20 mins to rejuvenated the old CRT-(tv tube).After this repluging the tv video board for a tv signal and readjust the button on the FBT-(flyback tranformer) that said focus to fix the CRT-(tv tube) focus problems.

Mostly horizontal output section got problem in crt tv, check horizontal output transistor and replace it if found shorted.
Let me know model number of tv to look for related schematics for more info.

U can't.Only horizontal lines on the top parts of the tv screen or the lower parts of the picture screen.Or very light horizontal lines mix in with the tv screen pictures.The "CRT" the picture tube is slowly dying of old age.Quicker than they supose to.The late 90" these problems case show up alot more in standard tvs using CRT tube.Because the CRT and analog design about to be faze out of the market place.The glass molding and those radiation matrials,they used to make those "CRT" picture tube materials,not as good as before.

hi! this is shiharan.i am repairing a philips20PT,crt type tv.the problem is that only the lower half(vertical) portion of the picture tube lights up to display pictures.after taking off the back cover i am not been able to locate the horizontal,vertical driver IC.Perhaps the driver section is built arround FET.Please help me.. hi! the horizontal section is near collapse, the lines indicate a sort or leak. Soon, the set will go black. Shut off as repair will be cheaper now! Needs professional repair as High voltage section is dangerous.. Unplug to be safe!

Unfortunately there isn't any way to repair your tv as the magnet has distorted the tube that is in the tv and with CRT becoming obsolete the repair is likely to be very costly so probably your chaepest option is to buy a new tv .

TV FINE UNTIL 2 NIGHTS AGO HAVE HAD 4 YEARS, STARTED HAVING A FOGGY SCREEN WITH WHITE HORIZONTAL LINES. HAS SOUND A FOGGY SCREEN WITH WHITE HORIZONTAL LINES. called retrace lines please check 1 screen control on eht transformer is mituned 2 supply to screen of crt 3 supply to rgb video output is absent 4 connector loose 5 crt base loose thanks
