Your signal is not strong enough. Might be time to get a new router

Hp internet problem

You may need to look at your router and wireless gadgets, instead of your computer. Is your router high up in the room and giving a strong signal to the computer? If not, get a bridge to repeat the signal. Do you have a cordless phone or other device that is causing interference? Is someone borrowing your router signal in a way that causes your signal issues (what encryption do you have enabled)?. Some routers just lose their connection and need to be rebooted regularly. In some cases, the easiest solution is just to go to a wired network and not deal with the problem at all.

I have the 4 port Linsky Router.I have a Sony laptop connected to a Sony wireless routerI also have a movie download box. When I connect both to the modem separetely, bolth the laptop and the mvie download...

this is because your wireless router is a router, and your linksys is also a router. Both are attempting to do routing, and they're colliding with each other.

Go into your linksys router's settings, and set it's IP address to have the SAME subnet mask as your wireless router, (The third number in the ip address has to be the same)

e.g. if your wireless router is 192.168.0.1, make sure your linksys is 192.168.0.2
if your wireless router is 192.168.2.1, make sure your linksys is 192.168.2.2

After that, turn OFF the dhcp server on your linksys router (do this in the linksys config page).

After that, plug the LAN port of your linksys to the LAN port of your wireless router.

Your linksys will now be acting like a "Switch" which is an extension of your network. Voila!

I can,t set up my linksys it won,t work . Help !! I got another Laptop

You will need to provide a better description such as the model number of your Linksys. If it is a Linksys router or WAP you can point your browser to http://192.168.1.1/ and enter in your login information. If this is the first time you've attempted to login to the Linksys router/WAP the default login is either blank or "admin" and the password is "admin".

Does a satellite internet network require a special wireless router or will a DSL wireless router work? (Huges satellite)

They will provide you connection on their satallite modem. You can use any wireless router of your choice with the same.

My linksys WAP router has "little or no connectivity". I think there is a problem with the network key, as I was trying to find it so I could get access on a second wireless computer. Now the 'original'...

Reset your Linksys back to factory default if you can't remember the key/password. Just push and hold down the recessed button on the back for 30 seconds. This will rest it back to they day you bought it.

Yes, adding a repeater closer to the laptop will repeat or boost the signal so you get a better signal. You can also try replacing the standard antennas with better ones.

Could be a vista compatibility problem.
check Linksys website for updated driver and or connection manager.

check that you still have permission in firewall.

remove the software of the usb wireless adapter, reboot ,then re install.

just a couple of thoughts
good luck
