Yes it dosen't matter what input your using. It starts after its been off. I turn on or switch on the standby first then wait. But now I am having to turnoff the power switch off until the red light on the front goes off. Then turn power switch back on and turn on the monitor again. You can hear a relay switch in the back and then the flicker starts again for 1 to 2 mins before the screen brightens up and i have a image.

Does it flash in all input modes such as HDMI, component etc., or does it happen only on HDMI?

Looks like an issue with the capactiors on one of the sustain boards. It is possible that one or two of them are faulty and due to varied capacitance value are taking longer to charge than usual. How good are your soldering skills?

Caps = Capacitors. You should look for those with cracked/leaky tops or have tiny holes near the X or K mark at the top. The sure-shot way to test them though would be to use a capacitance meter or use the ohm-meter to test the resistance across each of the capacitor. They should measure infinite resistance evenwith the multimeter set to highest resistance range if they are ok.

Akai pdp4225m plasma has a green light but no sound and no pic. It was hooked up to a satilite reciever that blanked out also. Is there a reset button or a proceedure that might get the tv working again.

Hold a flashlight up to screen about 2 inches and see if you see a picture, and if so then it's the inverter board, you can check to see the price.

I have 42 in turns on but no screen.

Most likely either a Y--sustain or power supply board problem.

You can hope for a loose solder connection. Even this hopeful solution requires a long time of holding a solder iron.

Sound but no picture.

Try a hard restart, which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics, to a certain extent. If things do not improve after you replug it, then your TV has a more serious problem, that requires the attention of a repairman.
