I have an old singer stylist 834 and the bobbin case is quite wobbly which makes the top thread get caught by the hook and it wraps around the bobbin case whilst I am sewing. I have threaded the machine properly. Do you have and solutions? Thankyou Tash

To wind a bobbin put the cotton reel on the top pin, take the thread to the left and round the little wheel and back to the bobbin that should be on the winder, wind the thread round a few times to take a grip, release the stop motion in the balance wheel, turn the winder button so the winder moves to the balance wheel and press on the foot control slowly.
When you put the bobbin in the bobbin case make sure it turns anti clockwise.

What makes the thread bunch up in little clumps as a stitch around my fabric? I thought it was my tension but it still doing it. Singer stylist 833

Likely the bobbin thread tension is too low. You can verify it is bobbin thread by test sewing with a contrasting top thread color. If it is bobbin thread only that is bunching on the bottom side, increase bobbin tension by tightening the bobbin case tension spring. See instructions in operators manual.

I would like to find a singer stylist zigzag 413 manual -The machine I bought is not bringing up the bobbin thread

Singer has many of their manuals here: https://www.singer.com/support . The current link to the manual for the Stylist 413 is https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/SINGER%20413%20Stylist%20Sewing%20Machine.pdf .

Usually if the bobbin thread doesn't come up, check that the bobbin is inserted so that the thread comes off the bobbin counter-clockwise. Check that the thread is correctly is under the tension spring. Check the needle for damage. After that, you need to check the bobbin case and rotating hook to make sure there is no damage or timing problems.

I hope this helps.

When i start to sew, my thread gets caught up on bobbin. the string gets wrapped around the bobbin then breaks the thread. it seems as though the bobbin is sitting a hair too high. ? ? ?

Make sure there is no fluff/lint within the bobbin case causing the bobbin to stand proud. Pressure from the bobbin thread can sometimes stretch the bobbin itself.. replace the bobbin with a brand new one. Double check your threading be removing all thread and starting from scratch.

A horrible tangle

This is a bit late, could the bobbin case not be seated properly? You need to put it into place and then turn it clockwise until it seats soundly in the opening. Also, check for burrs...the needle may have left a rough mark on the plastic or metal in the bobbin area. A piece of batting, or even an old knee hi should snag on any rough areas.
