Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Technics SA-GX470 After playing music for almost two hours, my Technics SA-GX470 stopped music and started showing "OVERLOAD" in the display. It did not function after that, but showed the same message even after power off and back on. Please help to understanding this and suggest potential fix for it.

Over load means your speakers and its cable----please check it for bad cable or bad speaker------try to insert speaker one by one and test each time to investigate the bad one.--------if every thing is ok and you keep good ventilation around your receiver (no blocking of ventilation holes)and you still have a problem your protection circuit in your receiver needs to be checked by service technician

You probably have a Technics amplifier. If you check some of the answers in that category, one of the fixya experts may have responded to that earlier.

Overload display

Follow the course of the capacitor using the printed circuit board track. It should leave to an semiconductor (IC or Transistor). Replace that. As that will be causing the cap to blow.

My Technics AV Control Receiver SA AX530 is in overload

An amplifier should never be turn on without speakers, it will overload internally.
make sure speakers work and try again.

I have a technics sa-gx470 and when I power it on,the display reads (tuner, then the station, then reads overload) Is there a way to reset this unit??Or is there something that might have quit working?

Check for bad solder connections on the voltage regulators (attached to the heat sink)
It also could need an output IC (not cheap if available)

Receiver overload problem

The overload message is indicating that a problem was found and the system is shutting down the output section to prevent further damage. There are probably poor connections on the main board and failing capacitors in the front end. Expect a parts vcost in the $10 range. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair bill.

it could be overheating - try aiming a fan at it for a while, see if the problem stops.
