This is what is called a convergence problem. It is a fairly common problem. This is where one or more of the colors do not strike the correct positions on the screen. There is a special circuit built into the television that controls this very function. If your blue is very close to the other colors it may just need to be adjusted. If the blue is very far away you probably need to replace convergence IC's (or transistors depending on the circuit) and do an alignment on the unit. Check the owner's manual on how to adjust convergence, but only if the blue is SLIGHTLY off from the rest of the colors. If you adjust it and it turns out parts need to be replaced, you have just shot yourself in the foot and the final adjustment will take more time and/or end up costing you more because of additional time required because what you have done must be undone in order to align everything. I hope this helps.

That sounds like the convergence problem I had about a year ago, and like you, I replaced the convergence chips and that fixed the problem. It's cheaper to replace the chips if you do it yourself, but maybe not if you send it out for repair. If you can find an exact replacement board, that would fix it too, but I wouldn't necessarily expect it to last longer. The advice I read on replacing the convergence chips in my rear projection TV was that they would last 2 or 3 years and then need replacing again. So you're within that range.

Have a Crate V50-112.Have had it for 1 year. Replaced tubes 2 weeks ago, turned amp on tonight, started to play, amp went dead. Checked fuses, they're good. Any ideas?

Check for bad tube... it HAPPENS that brand new ones fail... USUALLY if they last 50 hours, they will last for the expected life. The bad tube would likely NOT be the main power tubes, as the amp would still run on one cylinder...

Double picture and i dont know how to fix

It's not convergence. That's for the older projection tube sets. There is a 'ghosting' adjustment that needs to be done. Hitch is that the adjustment is in the tech mode. A technician can enter a menu for access to a bunch of complicated stuff. In there he can make the problem go away.

if you bought it under one year ago then the retailer should be obliged to either replace it or repair it. I would look into this further, ask to speak to the manager or something casue when a tv switches itself off it indicates an error inside and turns itself off to prevent further damage.

Sony 36" tube TV

It definitely does not seem to be a problem with the Picture Tube. More like a cold solder. It is definitley not a job for a layman. Also, get a good technician to have a look, as locating cold solders is a labourous and time consuming process. It could also be possible that the main DC filter capacitor is getting dry, and may require replacement.
