Question about Toshiba 52LX177 52 in. LCD TV

Open Question

We bought a Toshiba Regza 52 inch (52LX177) 2 years ago. After about 1 year dancing horizontal (not vertical, which is what I read in most complaints about the regza) lines started showing up during warm up. Initially just for a couple of minutes, now for 25 minutes, then they disappear. We have had 2 different tv repair shops over to try to fix it. They put in a new main digital board which did not fix the problem. In both cases they just said a bad panel which is not fixable. This was a $2200 tv.... Any suggestions other than buying a new tv?

the best thig and easiest way would be to reset everything and start overthose things have so many differnt settings but to start turn it off then on the right side it has a power button, hold that power button down for 5 seconds and its reset.

Go to menu on your remote control and select picture setting and try selecting "default" setting to seeif you like the color, if not adjust contrast to about two thirds of the way and brightness to your liking and color to about the middle.

I got multiple thin colors on the middle of the screen

My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display issue (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.

Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further updates will be on my Facebook page.

Vertical line on my 46" toshiba lcd tv

The only logical solution for the problems people are having for the toshiba regza's tv's is to get into a class action law suite..., they contiue to sell tv's with defective parts and refuse to help the customer that spent large cash to find out they last if your lucky 2.5 years, they are junk and anyone with one will soon find out./.......

Called ghost lines or banding. I researched on toshiba thread LCD screen bad. I have same problem purchased HL196 4/07 problem appeared 1 year and 9 months ago no extended warranty. If still under warranty call toshiba. LCD screen more expensive then orginal price of TV. Should file class action lawsuit for selling defective screens. Lot of people having same problem. goforth2953
