This sounds like it may be a problem with your video card. Is this on-board video or an add-on card? If it's on-board try adding another card to it (be sure to disable on-board in the BIOS and switch the default output to the correct setting if applicable). If that works then you're golden. Good luck.

Dell e193fp goes blank at times

From the description there are bad solder connections on the power supply board and since the monitor is 7 years old there is a good chance some of the capacitors need to be changed.

When I turn my computer on my monitor turns on as well, but there is no image. The monitor will tun on, but then it will shut itself down, restart, and then shut itself off again in a continuous cycle....

It sounds like a bad power board inside the monitor. Or Inverter board. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do. (Aside from sending it back under warranty) if it is still valid for that.

Monitor not powering up. Theft deterrent?

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

L1932TQ LCD Monitor won't turn on.

I'm affraid you did about everything you can to find the issue. Trying to isolate the problem is the best way to come close to a solution eventually. But after all the tests you did, it seems that the monitor itself got a problem. I dont suggest you to try to fix it yourself, some electrical parts may need to be electrically discharged before being removed from the monitor. If your monitor is still in waranty, contact LG for support. Otherwise, you could bring it to a local tv/monitor store to see if they can repair it. LG support rep could also give you some advice, maybe they got a certified partner in your area that could take a look at it. P.S. If your computer is on windows XP it should shut down the usual way just by pressing the power button once. The shutdown will be the same as if you go Start->Shutdown->Shutdown the computer.

LCD Shuts down

The monitor screen may be OK, but the monitor electronics are not. YOu state that the comuter works fine with a different monitor. That leaves out the video card. If you reall ywant confirmation of a bad  monitor, Try it on another computer ansdI am willing to bet that it  will again shut off.  Take it to a shop for repair or replace it.
