Is it type 1 or type 2?

Clarify please. The blade hits the base rather than the slot for the blade to go through. Is that correct?

I don't see anywhere on it where it says type 1 or 2. The blade travels down through the red plastic plate and keeps on going until it strikes the metal under the red plastic base.

I've been looking at the schematic for your saw. I can't find an owners manual either...

Many miter saws have an adjustment piece at the back of the saw where the upper part meets the base. That is the depth adjuster. You can set the saw to how far down you want it to go, for instance, if you wanted to do a lap cut rather than cutting all the way through. Some saws have this and some don't. Mine doesn't. I could not see what kind you had by looking at the schematic. Look around at the back and see if you can find anything.

Here's the number for Skil customer service: 1-877-754-5999

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. THanks,

Brand new out of box but the blade touches the insert but also seems to touch the metal base at the dust funnel. Is there an adjustment somewhere? None obvious in manual.

Check the size of the blade as it is probably 1/2 too big for the saw
The correct size blade will have a diameter that will give sufficient clearance for that machine.

there should be a spindle lock on this tool, lower the blade guard without removing and hold the spindle lock and the screw is usually left hand thread.

My blade won't cut threw the intier stock. like somthing is stoping it from breaching the deck. There is no saw dust hindering it anywhere and it used to cut right threw.

turn the bolt counter clock wise on the arm, this will allow the blade to go lower...don't go too far or u will cut into the base and or fence.

My blade gaurd will not automatically rotate out of the way when lowering the blade to make a cut , Ridgid 12' compound miter saw

MS12502 has a solid arm actuation to move the blade guard, this is either bent, broken, unattached or otherwise not functional. sometimes the moving parts get full of sawdust and a major cleaning is all thats needed. generally all woodworking tools should be blown out with air after each use or end of day.

actual model number of your saw would be more helpful.

Solution for "changing blades on a milwaukee miter saw

Have you removed the old blade yet?

The blade lock my be broken off -- it should be a button on top of the motor.

This saw has left hand threads -- turn clockwise to loosen the bolt/nut.

If you can't find the blade lock, lower the saw onto a piece of wood llike a 2x4 to keep the blade from turning.
