System restore won't solve the problem as the virus definition will be stored there too. You need to remove the virus. Try to download Malwarebytes anti malware program here (it is free) and install it, update it, and run it. If your machine is too infected to install a program you will have to take it in and have it done by a professional.

Restart your your pc, as soon as it powers on (even before you see anything on your screen), repeatedly tap on F8 to get to the advanced boot menu. Choose the option to go to safe mode with networking. Once you're logged in to safe mode with networking, go to malwarebytes.org, download and run the free version, do a quick scan. That should be able to get rid of that window.

Restore acer aspire 4730z

Switch On your PC/ Laptop and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

Restore gone wrong?

I would try and boot into safe mode (F8) and try a different restore point.
If you have a xp disc you can try a repair installation.
You pop the disc in DONT choose to repair, carry on as if you are installing windows, it will search for previous versions and it will offer you the chance to perform a repair installation.
this looks like a full install and takes as long but you dont loose any programs or files.

Acer aspire 5570z- CD ROM NEEDS GLASSES!

Try uninstalling first. Reboot & see if the drive gets reinstalled automatically. If it does try cleaning with a good quality cd cleaner and see if it will read a known good cd. If it does need replaced you can replace it with an industry stamdard drive as long as it has the same interface as the old drive, ie. SATA or IDE. Hope this helps.

Laptop keyboard has stopped working

Use system restore to restore your PC back to a date before you began having virus problems.

Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

When you start System Restore, it will ask if you want to restore to an earlier time, choose a date from before the virus problems started and follow the prompts from there. Your computer will restart, the restore process usually takes 5-15 minutes and then your system reboots.

Let me know if this works for you.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Blank screen on acer aspire 5570z laptop

Hi Grneyes0725,

Thanks for the posting in FIXYA.

Could you please reboot Laptop in Safe mode.

Tapping F8 Key during Bootup. Select the option safe mode with networking.

Do the Error checking for each Hard Disk partition. Hope it fix the problem.

And if the problem is recent and date is known, its better to make a system restore.

1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.

2. Click Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> click on System Restore. System Restore starts.

3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.

4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system checkpoint in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next. A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.

5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer (normal mode now).

6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page appears.

7. Click OK.

Best of Luck & Regards
ELLIN

I have a feeling you will have contact www.acer.com for them to reset the emanager password for you.
Have you tried to restore this unit,
It shouldn't be passworded either just reset back to original install.

Let me know if this helps ,Misterdj
