Your next step is to download the service manual from Toshiba. This will give you detailed instructions for disassembling your laptop. Luckily for you replacing the jack does not require soldering, it plugs in. The part can be found HERE for less than $5.00

Suggestions;

Anti-Static wrist strap connected to ground source, and your wrist;

1) The jack your AC adapter plugs into on the motherboard, is the DC Power Jack.
Motherboard out of case, power to motherboard, take your multimeter and see if you are getting 19 VDC at the DC Power Jack's positive solder joint, on motherboard.

The center pin of the jack is Positive. (The inner cylindrical shell is Negative)
Follow the DC Power Jack's positive pin from the Center of the jack, to the motherboard.

You probably won't be able to touch your meter's Positive (Red) probe, to the DC Power Jack's positive pin under the jack; so touch it's solder joint on the opposite side of the motherboard.
(DC Power Jack should be soldered close to the motherboard, is why)

Of course also touch the Negative lead, (Black probe), of your meter, to the Negative, (Ground) solder joint for the DC Power Jack.

Getting 19 volts DC?

See if there is a cracked solder joint, for any of the DC Power Jack's pin connections to the motherboard.
ANY perceptible movement of the DC Power Jack on the motherboard, indicates a bad power jack, and may indicate a broken/cracked solder joint.
Center pin of DC Power Jack is loose? Bad DC Power Jack. Replace.

2) DC Power Jack is determined to be in good repair? No cracked/broken solder joints?
The next components in the power circuit on the motherboard, leading From the power jack, are P. MOSFET's.
Power MOSFET.

3) The last thing that concerns me, although I probably should have listed it first; is the AC adapter you are using.
Concern is that it doesn't have the 'intelligent chipset' that matches the Compaq CQ1-1225 All-In-One desktop PC's circuitry.

Dc plug laptop

DC Power Jack

DC_IN

If the DC Power Jack is connected to wires, and the wires end in a male plug, the DC Power Jack is now called a DC Power Harness.

What about it? Need to replace it?

Post the laptop manufacturer name, and model number.
The model number can be found on the Bottom of the laptop.

How do i power up my acer ferrari 4000

Remove main battery and try again, if nothing! check power adapter for correct voltage, If okay! sub out the ram memory one at a time and test, still no change! the DC jack is often the source of trouble and the laptop will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level, the DC jack will probably need resoldering.

My M2000 will not power up, have new battery and charger but still no power.

The DC jack in the laptop is often source of trouble, but the computer must be dismantled down to the motherboard level, at this point I recommend a professional to assess the repair cost.

Broken power plugin port

The power plug in port you refer to is the DC Power Jack.

The AC adapter (Charger) converts AC electricity into DC electricity.
DC electricity has two poles. Positive, and Negative.
(Just like on a D cell flashlight battery)

The center pin of the DC Power Jack is the Positive connection.
The outer metal spring-like pieces, on the inside of the cylindrical shape surrounding the center pin, are the Negative connection.
(The pieces of spring-like metal, all connect to the Negative connection in the DC Power Jack)

[ Note*
Cannot agree with the replacement instructions they offer, at the bottom of the page.
Not everyone has access to a hot-air gun. A 25 Watt soldering iron, and Desoldering Braid, is better, and more easily accessed ]

1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter, (Charger), and Battery.
2) Observe Anti-Static Precautions. Buy, and use an ESD wrist strap.
Electro Static Discharge.

(Average cost is from $3 to $6. Connect the alligator clip to a good ground source.
I connect to an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of an open, empty desktop computer case.

Acer 5570z no lites will not power on

Knowing that the new AC adapter (power supply), is putting out 19 to 20.5 Volts (DC), then the problem needs to be diagnosed further.

[ AC adapter is checked with multimeter. Function knob set to DC Voltage. (Dotted line over a solid line) Center hole in plug for AC adapter, that goes to laptop, is the Positive connection. (Red probe lead of multimeter touches)

Outside metal shell of plug is Negative. (Black probe lead of multimeter touches) An economical multimeter can be purchased for around $5 to $12. A multitude of stores carry them. An auto parts store is but one example. Analog, or digital is fine]

The jack in the laptop, that the plug for the AC adapter (power supply), plugs into, is the DC Power Jack.

With many DC Power Jack's, the jack is soldered directly to the motherboard.

Not so with the Acer Aspire 5570z series of Notebook PC's.
The DC Power Jack is connected to a cable of wires, which in turn is connected to the motherboard.
DC Power Jack Harness.

Replacement, is disassembling the laptop down to the DC Power Jack harness, unplugging it's cable's connector, and plugging in a new DC Power Jack harness.

The Bottom Case holds the DC Power Jack in place. (There is a slot in the side of the case it sits in)

Battery removed use an object to see if you can wiggle the Center Pin around. (Pencil? Or C-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y, a flat tip Jewelers screwdriver? )

Also see if the rest of the DC Power jack, that you can see, will move around.

A-N-Y perceptible movement means a problem with the DC Power Jack.
It would also be best to go further, disassemble down, and remove the DC Power Jack Harness, even if no movement is found.

Perform a Continuity Check with a multimeter. Check each wire in the harness to make sure they are good.

No problem found with the DC Power Jack?
Then the problem is a power sensor chipset, or chipsets, on the motherboard. This part of the laptop IS the power supply.
The AC adapter is just part of the power supply.

If this is found to be the problem, motherboard replacement is the viable solution.

[ Chip and Chipset are slang terms to denote I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Circuit

The power supply (Sensor chipset/s) senses whether the Battery needs a charge. Full or just trickle. It also senses when the laptop is to just run off of the AC adapter, and not the Battery, or Battery, and not the AC adapter.
{Plus a few other functions}

Here is the link to the Service Manual, (Free), for the Acer Aspire 5570 series of Notebook PC's,

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acer

Go to the second Aspire heading. The one that begins with Aspire 1200
Go down to the 8th line, and across to 5570. Left-click on 5570
This is a PDF file. May take up to 30 seconds after you click, before the first page comes up.

1) Use an ESD wrist strap. Connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source. (Electro Static Discharge. I connect to an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of an open empty desktop computer case)

Average cost is around $3 to $6.
One example of an ESD wrist strap,

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103245

2) Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove.
Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.
If no multi-compartment container is available, substitute with a clean egg carton.
Label each egg holder.
(Or double-sided tape, and label the tape)

There are screws which look VERY similar to others.
Do NOT mix them up.

3) Make a record as you disassemble. Make notes, drawings, and use a digital camera, or video cam, with good lighting.

Nice to have a record to refer back to, in case you are interrupted.
Also nice to have a Personal record made by you, along with the Service Manual

Intermittent power supply, problems whit the jack, how I can change that? thanks, Ing. Elton Vargas

1) Check to make sure the problem isn't the cable going into the plug, from the AC adapter. (Charger)
A lot of times, where the wires meet the back of the plug, that goes into the laptop DC Power Jack, is bad.
The wires have a break from becoming stretched. Makes an intermittent contact.
Same thing for where the wires meet the charger body.

AC adapter plugged into power, unplugged from laptop, use a multimeter set to the DC voltage scale.
Use the alligator clip attachments for the probe leads, attach the probe lead's to the AC adapter's plug, and wiggle the wire, check for an intermittent break.

2) AC adapter (Charger) unplugged from laptop, Battery removed, see if you can wiggle the center pin of the jack.
You may find the entire DC Power Jack will move a little.

If the center pin does not move, but the entire body of the jack does, the jack may just need to be
resoldered to the motherboard. The solder connections may be cracked.
If the center pin moves, replace the jack.

To replace the DC Power Jack, or repair the solder connections,

1) Remove all power to the laptop. AC adapter and Battery.

2) Observe Anti-Static Precautions:
Buy and wear an ESD wrist strap. (Electro Static Discharge) Connect the alligator clip to a good ground source. I connect mine to the metal frame of an open, empty desktop computer case.
(You don't need an Anti-Static Mat)
The price of an ESD wrist strap is around $3 to $8. Found in a multitude of places.
Example,

http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/Cables_Unlimited_Anti_Static_Wrist_Strap/ACC1400/10720671/froogle/

3) Completely disassemble the laptop down to the bare motherboard in your hand.
No Processor, Heatsink assembly, peripherals, nada.

TIPS:
A) You may wish to take photos, or make a video as you disassemble, for your first time. Also make notes.
After the first laptop the next one becomes easier.
(All of them follow a basic path when disassembling. Toshiba, HP, Acer, Gateway, you name it)

B) Use a multi-container for the various screws. Label each container for the area the screws came out of.
There may be 60 or more screws, and 12 different types of screws. Some look VERY similar to each other, but are NOT. DO NOT mix them up.
You can use a clean egg container in a pinch. Label each egg holder.

C) Take your time, use patience. Practice your soldering, de-soldering skills before working on the Toshiba's DC Power Jack, if you're rusty.
Use Desoldering Braid, and not a Desoldering Tool. (Solder S-ucker) The desoldering braid works MUCH better! (Also known as solder wick)
