Question about Sanyo DP50747 50 in. Plasma TV

2 Answers

I have a Sanyo DLP 50747. When I turn it on It clicks off in about 10 seconds. I read online to try replacing the sub-power board(part# SJ-B10N2010A) and if that does not work then replace the power supply board (part #LJ41-05246A) both of which I purchased from Shopjimmy.com. I replaced both and it still does the same thing. Can anyone give me any other suggestions?

If you have replaced both boards and it does the same thing, then chances are that your first replacemnt the sub power board has blown again due to the main power board being faulty or the problem is not in the power supply boards and is actually the protection circuit of the tv shutting down as it detects a high voltage on one of the other boards. Is the picture good till it switches off, there are no ghosting or picture fading etc?

    ok download this filehttp://ia600303.us.archive.org/32/items/...

when its downloaded and the extension .zip to it so the filename goes from Sanyo-dp50747-Plasma-TV.omanual to Sanyo-dp50747-Plasma-TV.omanual.zip then extract the files. On both sides of the tv there are boards that control the power of the screen, i would center your diagnostics on these two. The included file shows where the fuses are located. Check the two fuses on the screen power boards to ensure they are not blown

the picture you want is step 2 image 1 picture file in the Repairing-Fuse---Power-Board-2229 directory

the two boards i mention are your xsus and ysus boards this i believe is what is faulty on the tv not the power board

  • Martin Murray Apr 06, 2011

Sorry but is 2.50am and i need to sleep. Hopefully you will be able to determine if power is reaching the left and right boards. Check the mosfets and capacitors for any damage . I will check back in the morning for any replies

it all depends (price) can you reply with the part numbers on both boards

My Sanyo hdtv model dp 50747 turns clicks on and off but the power button stays on what needs to be done

Your TV is equipped with relays that turn it on and off, it also has a diagnostic circuit that runs a low voltage trough all the circuits to test them. If there is a problem with any of the boards it will turn the set off, thus the second click. The power light is just stand by voltage, waiting for the problem to clear. These diagnostic circuits are placed in a lot of electronic products to prevent further damage to the set. I would check my power board, especially look at the capacitors. If they (any of them) are bulging at the top then you are lucky that's your problem. If you are DIY'er get the Micro farad rating ie.[2200uf]
and x amount of WV (Working volts). They are dirt cheap on eBay or rob them from an old set. Try to put a higher working voltage (WV 35 VDC replace with 50 WV). Hope you get lucky and it's just caps, if not eBay or shop jimmy's is a good place to get replacement boards. I am just assuming it is the power board by the way you said it kicked off immediately.Good luck!

Sanyo plasma # 42840 will not turn on. swaped boards & it still does not work

Which board did you swap? I would first suspect the SC and SS boards first (or the x and y sustain boards) different termanology for different brands it seems. I would try the x main first. The easiest thing to do is unplug the power from the x main and then plug in the power cord, if it starts up, (you still wont get a picture but wont click.) you know its that board, if same result, try the y main.

Hello my Sanyo dp42849 42 inch has no picture and no sound. when i turn on the tv a green light in the bottom right hand corner comes on and occasionally flashes off and then back on.

First, you need to know the sub-model of your TV.

It is called "chassis" and is shown on the back of the TV on the label where the model number is shown.

For example it can be "P42849-00" or "P42849-01".

Then search at www.coppelltvrepair.com/search or just go to www.coppelltvrepair.com and enter the link for SANYO DP SERIES to search for that.

Here's an example of a repair service (note it may NOT be the one for your exact model though!):

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/41/sanyo-dp42849-p42849-00-does-not-power-on-repair-service

Hope this helps!
