Question about Fisher and Paykel Dishwashers

1 Answer

920 model, door latch is getting replaced, kit contains a lug that bolts on to the inner cabinet, it looks like I need to take the off the white enamel cabinet side and top cover off to get at it, the nuts that I suspect hold the 2 screws that is, how is that done?

I came to the conclusion a mounting bar that the locking lug bolts onto was adrift and so took the top/sides and back it off as its one piece, removed the front kick plate and screwed it on. I had replaced the front kickplate plastic ends 18 months ago so was happy to extract them without fear of them breaking again. Took the plunge an hour orr two after first posting and did it in about an hour and a half with a few backtracks. A lot of work for such a small problem, two loose screws.

This question has been unanswered for a while now. Let me see if I can give you an hand. There should be several screws at the back holding the lid in place. Remove these screws and slide the lid forwards and lift it off. Remove the back cover and this will give you access to all the other sides and much of the mechanism of the machine.

The door on my machine won't shut?

Hello

You will need to adjust the dishwasher door latch to fix the door if it will not close. The door latch can come out of alignment from use. Adjusting the latch assembly is a straight forward process on most models of dishwashers. First, remove the securing fasteners for the inner door panel. It is a good idea not to remove the inner door panel completely, just enough that you can access the door latch assembly.

Turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off inside your home electrical panel. Open and close the door and watch where the strike plate makes contact with the door. The strike plate is usually on the front top center of the dishwasher. If the strike plate is out of alignment, it will hit the inside of the door.

Pull the dishwasher out of the counter enough that you can access the strike plate securing Torx screw. You may need to open your dishwasher door and remove the two screws that secure the dishwasher mounting bracket to the bottom of the counter with a Phillips-head screwdriver to pull the dishwasher away from the counter.

Loosen the Torx screw that secures the strike plate to the washer tub with a Torx driver. Adjust the strike plate so the plate will engage the door latch. Retighten the Torx screw and push the dishwasher back under the counter. Secure the brackets to the counter if your dishwasher uses retaining brackets.

Adjust Door Latch

Open the dishwasher door and remove the Torx screws securing the inner door panel to the outer door panel with a Torx driver. The retaining screws are usually around the side edge and top edge of the dishwasher door.

Lift the inner door panel enough that you can loosen the two securing bolts on the door latch with a wrench. You only need to loosen the bolts, not remove them.

Carefully raise the dishwasher door to align the door latch with the strike plate. Hold the door latch with your finger tips when you align the latch. Lower the door and tighten the door latch securing bolts.

Install the inner door panel retaining screws and tighten all screws with the Torx driver. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.

Door springs on Fisher & Paykel 920 dishwasher not working at all .How can they be replaced?

Hi - heres the instructions for you - have fun.....

Removal of Cabinet

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

1. Isolate power supply.

2. Remove service and decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

3. Ease machine forward for all round access. Be careful not to damage floor coverings.

4. Remove two screws from bottom sides of cabinet rear.

5. Remove the top screws on left and right hand sides of the cabinet rear.

6. Remove two screws securing the rear bottom panel.

7. Remove five screws securing the stainless steel frame to cabinet wrapper at front of machine. These are located behind the sound gasket and service panel.

8. Withdraw the cabinet assembly away from the machine.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner. Fitting the top centre screw in the cabinet wrapper first, makes fitting the cabinet easier.

6.9 Removal of Door Tension Springs

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

Location: The door tension springs are located either side of the machine and are

fitted to the chassis base and door quadrants by means of the end hooks of

these springs.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Ease machine forward for all round access.

2. Remove service panel (Refer Section 6.1).

3. Remove two screws in the cabinet wrapper exposed by the Service Panel.

4. Remove the springs from the quadrants and the chassis base using pliers.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner.

6.10 Removal of Hinge Assemblies

(Do not use decorative panel to move machine)

Location: The hinge assemblies are located either side of the door and retained by means of two rivets on each side to the inner door panel.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Remove service & decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

2. Remove outer door panel (refer Section 6.2).

3. Remove cabinet (refer Section 6.7).

4. Remove door tension springs (refer Section 6.8).

5. Remove quadrant grommets.

6. Open door fully and drill out the two rivets from the hinge assembly on inner door panel.

7. Hinge assembly can now be removed from inner door and cabinet.

Note: Hinges should be replaced one at a time. Repeat procedure six and seven for other hinge. Hinge guide quadrants can now be removed by depressing sides and pulling free of slot if need be.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner using 3/16 monal rivets to secure the hinges to the inner door.

I have no way to connect to the granite counter top. Can it be mounted to the side cabinets?

Need prefix for model number. Need complete model number. I believe that the numbers that you have given are stock numbers from your user manual. Kenmore can be several different manufacturers. Some brands have kits to mount unit from the sides using brackets at the top. If stainless steel tub, look for removable plastic caps on the right and left sides of unit. These holes would be used for installing bolts into cabinet. If plastic tub and no kits are available holes can be drilled into sides to secure unit to cabinet. As long as heads of bolts(screws) are flush to allow door closing, unit will not leak because of tub(door gasket.

  1. Remove the hubcap or center cap.
  2. Loosen but do not remove the hex collar bolt.
  3. Loosen but do not remove the wheel lug bolts.
  4. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  5. Loosen all, and remove all but one of the CV joint to stub axle bolts retaining the halfshaft to the transaxle flange. If necessary have an assistant hold the tire, or remove the tire, install two of the lug bolts and have an assistant hold a suitable and sturdy 3 foot (1 meter) prytool between the lug bolts to prevent the axle from spinning.
  6. If not previously removed, remove the front wheels.
  7. Remove the remaining CV joint to stub axle bolt and remove the halfshaft from the transaxle drive flange and support it out of the way. Do NOT let it hang unsupported.
  8. Remove the outer axle hex collar bolt and press the halfshaft out of the hub. A suitable press tool may be necessary, otherwise drive the axle out using a suitable drift.
  9. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor cable from the brake caliper bracket.

How do i replace my outside door hanle on my 1998 toyota corolla

You do need to pull off the inner door panel. After the panel is off, you are going to need to disconnect the lock rods from the outer handle and the key cylinder to the door latch mechanism. You will need a long 1/4" drive ratchet and extension, and a 10 millimeter socket. The outer handle is held on by 2 10 mm bolts, you access them thru the inner part of the door. There is a hole provided, with clear tape over it, that will lead you to the harder to see bolt. After the bolts are out, remove the handle, swap the key cylinder into the new handle, and reinstall. Not hard at all. Please let me know if you need more information

Rear gate (barn doors)

Climb into the back of your Yukon, using a apholstery tool (looks like a bent screwdriver with a claw on the end) or a putty knife and pry the bottom of the inner door skins off cut a 6 inch gash in the clear plastic to expose the door handle mechonizims. spray brake cleaner on the inner latch to clean, then using penitration oil to unsieze. Grab the long metal rod and work it up and down...the should open. repeat to the other door if it will not open as well. I had to replace my barn door inner latches on second barn door. (the door that opens last) with safari barn door latches. I got them from a wrecking yard cheap. ($15.00) to replace at GM....over $200.00. The wrecking yard told me the latches wouldn't work, but I look at the Safari latches and they were identical. My barn doors work perfectly. Hopefully this helps.
