Turn on a regular cycle with no dishes inside. After the water has filled add 1/4 cup of CLR or Lime Away to the water and let the cycle run. This should clean the machine. From then on use less detergent. Get a water softener if you don't have one and use an additive such as Glass Magic to your cycles. Always use rinse aid. Any of these suggestions should help somewhat. Good luck.

Hi

The issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with your dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use your voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If your switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is to add some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1 cup of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

The problem is hard water and jet dry will not solve that. There is a new product out called The Dishwasher Filtration System. It filters the water going into your dishwasher leaving your dishes spot free with every load. It is very affordable and fits right under the sink. You will be amazed how sparkling your dishes look just after one load. You will love this product. Get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com.

I got a layer of white cloudy film on my dishes after normal wash

Doing a full vinegar cleaning of the diswhasher is a good start, and every 6 months or so if you have hard water.
But, I have proven that using ultra-cheap dishwasher powder will cause this problem too. Recommend after you do the cleaining with white vinegar through a quick cycle with no detergent, you use only a brand name powder (like Cascade or Electrosol) and see if problems persist.
If problems remain, the heating element has probably failed. Once it is replaced, you will see a dramatic improvement. Good Luck!
