Question about Kenmore Dryers

1 Answer

I have had my Kenmore HE2 dryer for a little over a year. Recently, I am getting a "PF" in the display and the dryer stops after the dryer is on for a short time. This happens 3 out of 4 times when I put a load of clothes in for drying. What causes the PF display and dryer stoppage? Thank you. Linda

PF is a power failure code. Try turning the breaker completely off and back on again. If it continues to happen you may want to call an electrician as your circuit may not be able to handle the strain which could be potentially hazardous.

Power went out and dryer is blinking "pf" and no buttons work

It blinks "PF" to indicate that the cycle is interrupted due to a power failure. Press Start to continue the cycle or press Stop/Cancel to clear the display then restart the cycle.

Unplug the dryer for at least 30 minutes to forcibly reset the control if the display does not clear out or if the dryer cannot be restarted. Indicate the complete and exact model number of the dryer for further and specific troubleshooting repair advice.

Kenmore dryer

It sounds to me like a problem with the timer. Timers do not get repaired...they get replaced.
I hope this helps you out is not always the best news to find out it is going to cost money but if it is not under warranty we really have little choice in the matter....Thanks for choosing Fixya and a click on the yes bow with a rating would be great if you can remember to on your way out of our site.
