There is no problem with VLC. You must be downloading a torrent and the file is partially downloaded in parts and hence VLC mixes videos. It happened to me too.. Dont Worry. Once the download is totally complete, VLC will play the complete file.

Regarding font cache it happens only the VLC is installed and launched.

I have a DVD made 10 years ago whch plays on my PC (windows 7) when inserted into the DVD drive and also from windows media player. I want it to play from a USB for an 80th birthday coming up.

Your best bet is to:
1) Transfer all of the files from the DVD to your USB Drive. Then:
1) Download and install VLC Player on the computer you will be viewing the video on.
2) Plug the USB Drive into that same computer.
3) Find the largest file on the USB Drive from that DVD (details view click on size column, which will sort the list by size).
4) Right-click on file and choose: Open With... and choose the VLC Player to open it with.

If the first file you try this with, does not play, try the next largest file, and so on.

Cant view video attachment on my laptop

Why not? What type of message are you getting? Did you double click on the video attachment once it was downloaded to start it?

Try opening the video attachment from the download with the VLC Player.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

Try downloading VLC MEDIA PLAYER onto your computer and try playing the DVDs / movie files with that application. I use that application to play all my DVDs and media files and it works very well, and best of all it's completely free.

You can read about, check out user reviews, and download the program for free from CNET.COM at the following direct link:

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the link, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Where can i download window player for toshiba dynabook t4/495cce driver

Thank you for choosing FixYa! Regarding your concern for a media player download, I advise to get the VLC media plyer instead. Why? Because VLC has the most codecs a media player could offer to play all types of audio and video formats. Follow the instructions below.
  1. Click on the link
  2. Click on "Installer Pack"
  3. On the next page, wait for the download prompt to come up and click on Run (for Internet Explorer Browser) or Save file (for Mozilla Firefox Browser).
  4. Wait for the download to complete and play any audio or video file.
There are cases where a media player displays distorted videos. That is because of missing codecs. With VLC you have nothing to worry about. I am using this, so as a technician I highly recommend you to try it. Thank you for choosing FixYa! Enjoy!

Firstly i am not able to understand your problem correctly. What i think your problem i am writing solution according to that.

Try playing in different player or better player like vlc which can play all types of media files.
May be there is some problem in your player caching. As caching needed everytime u play a movie.Try uninstalling your player then reinstalling.

Hoping this will work

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 Notebook running WindowsXP with a DVD-RW/CD-RW drive. When I insert a DVD to play or to copy it won't work, it tells me I need a DVD decoder. How can I get one to solve this...

Just download FFDShow and VLC MEDIA PLAYER.
Its extremely rare with this combination, to find a movie that wouldn't play,

get FFDShow here
with ffdshow all you need to do is to run the setup file and click next repeatedly untill the setup is complete, and then just finish it, close it and its done, works on the background when movies are played.

vlc media player -

After you got these two installed, you should be able to play most if not all of the movies out there.

open vlc media player and then click File, dvd movie.

I am able to view you tube on my computer. How to download them to my computer?

View the video completely in Mozilla Firefox
After finishing the video, type

in the address bar

In the "Disk Cache Device"

You will see the Cache Directory path

Go to that folder.
Arrange all the files with size
The file with 1MB or more size could be the video.
Open each (big) file in VLC to confirm.

To make things easy, I recommend you first clear all the History, then view the video and to the setps.

PS: Gimme a 4 thumbs up raing.
