Question about Dean Markley Artist Transducer Acoustic Pickup

Open Question

My acoustic pickup has been broken for a while now, or so i think it is. It's the 70 dollar single coil promag plus model. I plug it in to an amp and it just doesnt amplify any sound. I am searching for help to attempt to fix it if possible. Thanks much.

My Ibanez acoustic electric has very weak volume and makes a constant white noise hiss when plugged into an amp or sound system. Batteries are new as is the pre-amp and under saddle piezo. Ideas?

It will be either the saddle pickup or the guitar pre amp. If you unplug the pickup and the hiss is gone, there was your fault. Otherwise fit a known good pre amp.

Crackling through amp occasionally

There are only a few things that could be responsible for your problem. Dirty volume knob on guitar or amp. Faulty ground on all affected parts; including cables. I suggest you plug into a different amp with a new chord, and see if the problem still exists. This way you can quickly eliminate compnents & focus on the actua lproblematic one. If it still exists..you can assume it'sin the pick-up.

Issues With Dean Markley ProMag Plus Acoustic Pickup

Hope you didn't throw it out. I know this is a bit late.

Cleanly remove about an inch from the end of the cable.
Loosen screw in the jack (yeah, it's there on the side).
Put cable back in jack and push it till it won't go anymore.
Tighten screw. You need to tighten enough so screw will breach the insulation and make a ground connection.

Pick up not worcking es44c

Make sure you have the correct length plug end as there are 5 different lengths avaiable. Long ones will short out those jacks intended for the short ones and short ones fail to reach the tip on the long jacks.

Check to make sure there is continuity through the pickup coils with an ohm meter.

I have a dean markley promag grand acoustic pick-up which connects to a plug in stap button. when i plug in there is no sound unless the volume is turned up on the amp to the max and then a very faint...

The output of this is fairly low. Do make sure you have steel strings rather than bronze for magnetic pickups like this. Make sure this pickup is oriented per the instructions.

Fishman Prefix Plus preamp on my acoustic guitar picks up the unwound strings well but the wound strings are barely audible

You could try boosting the bass and reducing the highs on the EQ setting, however there MAY be a probllem with the pickup, not the preamp.

I run a pod HD 500 into the amp and It breaks up, like there is a blown speaker sometimes.

The Marshall is a super clean acoustic amp.

The POD is overloading the amp.

Try the electric guitar input and keep the gain on the amp down, keep the EQ level and use the POD and the end volume to adjust the final volume.

The normal inputs is for a low output acoustic pickup - the POD is a high output electronic source.

Start with the Marshall gains low and get the clean sound good, then work on the gritty sound.

The amp is voiced for a sweet clean sound - if you want grit'n'ball change to a 50w Marshall valve head and a 4 X 12 cabinet.

When I plug in a hum will start and when I touch the jack an the guitar it stops humming . It's a yamaha acoustic electric.

You have a broken ground either on the jack, the plug or internal in the amp. Check both connections first. I think you will find it. If not open the amp and check for broken wires, cracked solder joints, etc. While checking the connections resolder all connections no matter what they look like. Let me know how you make out.

Low volume on acoustic and jazz amp type

Ok, so I hope you realize the Fender FM25DSP guitar amplifier is an "entry level" NON-valve amp with a DSP chip that has model shaping tones. I am sorry but this is a toy and Fender did not spend the tens of thousands of US dollars to have built-in tones that truly 'kill". This not digital modelling like Line 6 or Fractal Audio did and so you have a problem from the start. This amp was always intended as an entry level amp for the bedroom only and never to be used on stage.
Jazz and acoustic modes have some similarities requiring mid-range boost and some rounding. Not easy to achieve with a DSP chip that costs about US$10 to manufacture. Sorry, consider using the amp for practice but look at a more serious valve amps for live on stage
