Question about Napoleon "Prestige I P450RBNSS" Gas Grill

1 Answer

I have low flow on the first manifold (far left) on my napoleon 600. Removed and cleaned the manifold, no joy. Removed and cleaned venturi manifold and jet, still no joy? Have new tank and regulator installed and have pressure to all other manifolds. What next? Swap burner valves to see if the problem follows the valve? Or just remove and try to clean it?

If you're going to remove it, to swap it with another valve, why not inspect and clean it while it's out? That way you want have to remove it twice. Keep in mind, you may end up having to replace it anyway.

I put a new fuel pump on my 90 cbr 600, when I start it up it flows fuel out of a hose on the far left carb, and all over the motor, is it supplying too much fuel?

Sounds like a stuck float on the left carb. Try tapping the carb bowl while the gas is running through. carbs probably need cleaning.

1994 Honda VT 600 C Shadow bogging at high RPM

Hi, Anonymous engine "BOG" is mainly caused by a rich air and lean fuel condition but it can also be caused by a lean air and rich fuel condition this situation rarely occurs and is only caused by the misinformed weekend warrior that owns a toolbox.
The more you open your throttle the more vacuum you are creating in your carburetor venturi and your intake manifold. When you are operating at higher RPM any unmetered air that leaks into your system can become more obvious.
Unmetered air is air that is getting into your system after the fuel has been delivered. If you have unmetered air getting into your system between the butterfly/slide of the carburetor and the cylinder head this will create a lean condition.
All of the rubber components of the fuel system like vacuum hoses and intake manifold that you mount the carburetor to are made of rubber. If none of these components have been changed out they are more than likely highly degraded and probably cracked in places to allow unwanted-unmetered-contaminated air into the combustion chamber. Check all of your vacuum lines and vacuum plugs for carburetor synchronization. The vacuum plugs are in the head just after the rubber intake manifolds. The petcock has a vacuum line as well as part of the emission system.
1. Check the intake manifold for cracks.
2. Ensure the bands used to tighten the manifolds down on the intake are secure and have not bound up the manifold.
3. Make sure air box fittings are not warped and fit completely over the carburetor.
Your airbox is metering air and is the first step in a process of consuming air and fuel. The system requires the resistance of the air filter in order to get the proper vacuum to "SUCK" the fuel out of the float bowl and create the proper venturi effect.
Improper mounting and sealing of the airbox will create a small lean effect. This might seem like no big deal but you are inviting dust and debris in your engine that is doing slow damage by not having proper fitment. Fix it so you know it's not contributing to your issue. Pick the low hanging fruit first.
Do not go and start adjusting anything at this point. It ran fine before. There is something wrong with the assembly or a component. Do not adjust your floats. Get it back to where it was. The moment you start tweaking everything is the moment you lose OEM settings which are a must have for fine tuning and maximum performance.
Fine tuning your carburetor and multi carb syncing come at the very end following the proper procedure established by the Carburetor Gods.

Low flame on one side

If your grill is older and has seen several seasons check for obstructions elsewhere the venturi is only one place for problems, check for hose kinks loose connections. If this is in a cold weather area, it maybe just low pressure. Also look for collected/ponded water in the burner tubes, especially if the flames are yellow.

I have very low water pressure on my 4 year old Whirlpool WHES40 Water softener when the service position. When bypassed the water in my home returns to normal. I have cleaned the venturi and nozzle and...

The pressure loss is due to either a plugged distributor/manifold or upper basket. The head must be removed for access to the manifold and upper basket. The manifold runs from the head to the bottom of the tank. This is where all the soft water is drawn from and is the most likely cause for pressure loss. Water must be shut off and tank depressurized before attempting to remove the head of softener to access these parts. Clean the slots in the manifold and upper basket. They are probably plugged with iron, resin and/or gravel and re-install.

My left burner is much hotter then the right burner on my 1504 Natural Gas Grill. Please adivise

It mat simply be a case of the right burner needs to be removed and thoroughly cleaned as well as the attached venturi valve. Spiders like to build nest in the venturi valve, clogging them so the so the air to gas mixture is off.

The spiders spin webs, build nests, and lay eggs in the BARBECUE VENTURI TUBE (s)obstructing the flow of gas to the BURNER. The backed-up gas can ignite in the venturis behind the control panel. This is known as a flashback, and it can damage your Barbecue and even cause injury. To prevent flashbacks and ensure good performance the BARBECUE BURNER and VENTURI assembly should be removed from the grill and cleaned before use whenever the BARBECUE has been idle for an extended period of time.

Also, when you lite the BBQ, make sure that you turn the gas on at the tank, wait a couple of minutes and then turn the knob on and light the burner. This is to make sure that the pressure is regulated and sufficient prior to lighting.

Hope this helps!
