Question about Uniden BC340CRS Base Scanner

Open Question

Have a BC340crs 100 channel scanner. When following the directions in the manual to program the thing I see "L/O" is in the led window for ALL channels. The unit is "locked" in L/O (Lockout) mode and the unit will not respond to any attempts to change this. Because of this (I assume) I get an error message when I enter frequency numbers into the unit. When you press and hold the L/O button (to get out of L/O mode) the unit beeps twice, but "L/O" stays on the display. Any ideas? Thank you for this help forum.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I cant seem to be able to program a frequencies into my scanner. I have a list of local frequencies but the numbers are to large to enter into the scanner to accept. it only holds up to six numbers but...

Frequencies in the range you mention may be part of a trunked system that your scanner cannot follow, but you can still enter and monitor the frequency. Yes, your BC340CRS will handle frequencies with up to five decimal places, as long as the last two digits are 25, 50, 0r 75 (see page 16 of the BC340CRS Owner's Manual). The best programming instructions for your scanner are also in that manual. If you don't have a copy, you can download and print it, at no cost, here:

Can not find a police channel on unit

Depending on your location, the pre-programmed service on your scanner may be useless, and you may or may not be able to tune local police communications. Many public service agencies have moved to the 800MHz bands, and many of those are using trunked radio systems - all beyond the capabilities of the BC340CRS. Uniden/bearcat BC-100

If it's indeed a BC-100 and not a BC-100xlt, the 16 channels are easy to program and use.
1. Press MANUAL 3 MANUAL with 3 being the number of the channel you wish to program.
2. Enter the frequency for that channel (e.g., 162.55) followed by ENTER.
3. Follow the same sequence for each channel you wish to program, except that pressing MANUAL after you program a channel will advance the scanner to the next channel.

To scan, simply press the SCAN button after your frequencies are programmed.
